Fvck is better than *****, for any curse word, if ATOT remembers.

In posts I'm tired of.... "sadly"...."that being said".... "having said that". They are worn out phrases(though sadly isn't a phrase) it still sucks.

With all due respect, I personally think some these items shouldn't of made this list. Absolutely there are some phrases that, while fairly unique, are extremely irritating. It's a nightmare to listen to them being uttered 24/7. There's probably someone saying at least one of these phrases at this exact moment in time! I mean, it's not rocket science, people! But I guess, at the end of the day, we all are guilty of saying stupid things found in the English language . It is what it is..

::standing ovation::

Very good! Lol.

:thumbsup::beer:

"Going forward" and "mute point" need to be in there somewhere. I don't mind #6.

"You know" may be used as an interjection, but it seems to have replaced "um", "er", "eh" etc as a trite pause..

I particularly hate these catch phrases.

Here's a good example of a podcast I listened to recently where the guy uses "you know" an insane amount of times:

http://www.amateurscientist.or...st-studio-douglas.html

At times, he does it so quickly, it can be difficult to catch unless you're paying attention.

And yes, anyone that uses "should of", "could of" or "would of" should be shot.

can you really tell the difference between someone saying would of and would've? unless they take a pause between would and of, then i just don't see if.

What about I couldn't care less?

I don't mind that. It's just the stupidity of saying "I could care less" when you mean the opposite that bothers me.

***OFFICIAL*** means that what you are posting is rumor and conjecture, or better yet, made up by you on the spot. it's from a long ago poster who made up rumors about 3Dfx and always posted things like ***OFFICIAL*** and ***CONFIRMED*** for the title of his rumor threads.

I just listened to < 2 mins and heard "you know" probably more than 15 times.

You know, that's a, you know, very good, you know, example

The phrase is "moot point". "Mute" is the inability to vocalize.

I once wrote a college midterm/final essay using "mute" instead of "moot" and realized what I had done with seconds left in the exam. Knowing I could not proofread and correct my essay in such a short time, I just left a note at the end of the paper, "mute is supposed to be moot".
