The corvette is more than just numbers. It is a fine track car as well. It is not as exotic or luxurious as the european coupes, but it gets the job done and is much cheaper.

i wanna see what they say about the new vette, i know what MT said.
I have a feeling that they won't really like it that much even though it will crush a 911, M3, etcetc. They'll jabber on about "Xfactor" or being a crappy American car... ride too harsh and interior sucks etcetc.
They just don't understand... besides, the ride wasn't bad on the ZO6 for what it was.
well the reason that they don't like the american cars is because they are big and hunky and heavy as hell
sure a vette is probably more powerful than a 911 or a M3 and is faster in a drag. aka a faster "0-60", and a faster "quarter mile"
but what do you really get... a bunch of numbers... are cars really fairly evaluated by a bunch of numbers and stats? how about the actual track performance? take the lotus elise for example... stats-wise it is slower than the vette in every category...
but which one is a better track car? i think you should know...
that is why i really like what topgear is doing, testing the cars out on a track. that is also why topgear will never thrive in the states... people rather see cars burning out on the drag and see some numbers, not some guy in a white racing suit driving around a track...
The good news is that it's designed as a sports car so they haven't just stuck a truck engine in it. And to our shock and surprise, the Americans have managed to make another car that goes around corners. The suspension really is too hard, but it's preferable to the usual bouncy castle system that Americans seem to enjoy, and it has another of those interiors that looks like it's been fashioned out of old ashtrays.

well it does seem to be pretty fast:
Lotus Exige - 1.26.4
Chevrolet Corvette - 1.26.8
Porsche 911 GT3 - 1.27.2

the mclaren mercedes thing is #1, followed by GT40
that is the 911 GT3, i think it is the turbo'ed regular 911. not the GT ultra car

Way to post an old list without the Carrera GT on it... Even in the Ford GT review episode, Jeremy says, "Well, we knew it wasn't going to beat them..." And James comes in with "THe hyper cars, as wel call them," and Jeremy continues with "They cost 2 or 3 times as much..."
