Haven't people learned by now that Top Gear shows are setups? They're not supposed to be 100% reality, they're entertainment. In nearly every show, they set something up to make it more exciting. Sort of like that train vs car episode.

All you suggesting that reality shows are real and not just for entertainment?

1. They were provoked.
2. It's a TV Show, get over it.
3. People have a right to their own beliefs no matter how ignorant they appear to be.
4. They probably had to drive around for months before someone took the bait.
5. Similar reactions can be provoked by doing other things in other areas of the country.
6. Top Gear probably said / yelled / did things to those people that were not shown in the final video (edited out) in order to provoke a television worthy clip.
7. I hope you people get the message and stay the hell out of the south if you want to live.

It's not a fiction show... If you really think they'd have to set that up, you haven't gotten out of your suburb much.

That reminds when I was driving to Austin. I pulled into a small town to get gas. The pumps at the gas station were old so I had to go inside to pay. There were signs all over the store with slogans like "We kill n*ggers" and "f*ck yanks". It was quite disturbing. I got out of there as fast as I could.

They are setting up an interesting show. Sort of like that car vs. train show. Or the one where the Apache has to get missile lock on a car. How often do you see a show where the climax is a competition that's not even close? The show is a production, and there are heavy elements of fiction in it.
The main objective isn't to be as accurate as possible, it's to be as exciting as possible.

Uhh, then maybe you need to get around some more. There are equally bad, if not worse, people in every country. His nationalistic snobbery wouldn't carry too far if you taped some of the lower English classes. The only difference is that their accent sounds better.

...the people at the gas station just proved that there's a stereotype for a reason.
