Yessss, there was one or 2 tops.

Show felt rushed, interview went poorly and show feels like most of it was filmed like a shaky cam vid.


The whole show feels extremely scripted and there is no atmosphere. Hopefully next weeks show is better.

Watching it right now, had to watch Walking Dead first. A little past half-way thru it and can already see the other two hosts besides Tanner Foust are going to be annoying. Haven't seen the interview, unless you mean the part where the one guy was talking to Buzz Aldrin as I fast forwarded past it after about 15 seconds.

To be honest, the UK version feels heavily scripted at times, but they get by this having chemistry between the hosts.

The hosts here are all equally boring. At least they're not going for a carbon copy of the UK hosts like Top Gear Australia did.

I'll give it time. It has some potential.

It sounds odd, but I kind of prefer the UK studio more. I think you could say that the darkness in the UK studio allows them to show off what they want rather than having you see everything. It looked kind of odd during the interview with Buzz where I saw the wall and it felt... bland I guess? But that's also because the UK show has people all around the stage where the US one had people up top... balcony seating?

It actually wasn't too bad content-wise. I was kinda surprised they didn't split up the Viper vs Cobra segment like they'd usually do on Top Gear. I also expected to get a comment on how Wood's large size slowed his time down in the Super Veloce to keep in line with the usual ribbing .

But hey, at least they had Jessica at the beginning .

The UK version is definitely scripted, but the best part is when they won the award for best "non-scripted television show" (or something like that) .

season 14 felt heavily scripted, season 15 was alot better. I know the show is scripted but when you cant exactly tell without thinking about it thats some good writing.

and in the end makes for a better topgear

Yeah, it was 'ok' at best. It felt like they were trying to do too much in one show and couldn't quite focus on one aspect. I think if they spent some more time actually reviewing the cars it would be better. Sadly that part of it they didn't seem to copy over from TGUK.

I wish they would review bikes on Top Gear. It would be interesting to have them compare the top times of the cars to the top times of the bikes and see how much of an advantage even the most basic bike would have. You know, throw a Ninja 250r up against a Ferrari 458 .

EDIT: Saw they pitted a Porsche 911 v. a Yamaha R1 but can't see it at work.

The low production values...their voices...lack of chemistry...sucks!

Boy, I thought TG USA would suck, and I wasn't disappointed. That was lame on every meaningful level. Tanner Foust is the only real car guy among them, and he's as interesting as wallpaper paste. If they'd produced the original NBC version with Carolla the should could potentially have been watchable (he's very funny, has a biting wit, and is a true car fanatic), but this is just awful. How you manage to make a segment about the three fastest Lambos ever produced boring is beyond me - I guess it takes a special brand of talent.
