if anyone watched tonight's episode, i thought it was 1000% improved from the pilot

If anything, the camera work seemed to improve quite a bit... bar that one part when the camera van shook and you could see the molding of the van's rear window .

Although, Wood smack talking the Evo's looks... I've always really liked the Evo X's design. Mostly because it somewhat resembles the newer GT-R .

I think it looks fine. Seemed like they were just copying TGUK's schtick... calling random cars ugly without a reason why.

Still not a fan. The worst part for me was when they choreographed the skiers jumping over the car. I immediately groaned when I saw it. I mean, they do the same crap in TGUK, but it's just more obvious in TGUS, I guess.

The 2nd episode is a little better than the last, but not by much

I don't really like those bits when they're in TGUK either, they are a bit contrived and the result always seems fixed from the start. The most entertaining episodes are usually the ones with some road trip or challenge in old cars with all the unplanned breakdowns and pranks.

But I suppose they need some variety in the films they make otherwise it would get boring.

The Evo looks like a dressed up cheap car, which is exactly what it is. It's not gonna have the lucious sheetmetal of a Viper, F458, or Cayman for feck's sake.

I think the Evo looks can be considerably improved upon. Just because it resembles the GT-R doesn't mean it's any much better looking.

They interviewed the TG US guys and they said that any of those races are run first with the results being whatever they will be. Then afterwards they go back and film additional footage and get "glamour" shots. So the results are real, but some of the race footage isn't. One has to believe the TG UK races are filmed the same way.

The new GT-R is ugly as hell. I love the look of the old R34 though. I think the new Evo looks better than the old one, but it no longer looks like the rough and tumble rally car it is supposed to be. The new one looks out of place running offroad down a mountain where as the old one looked like it was meant to be there.

The show felt like a huge infomercial...Like the hosts were on the payrolls of the car companies, haha.

It's not TG:UK but it's a show, about cars. I like cars, especially the fast awesome ones from the show. So, I'll watch it and quit complaining.

I just wish the hosts could be assholes, but here in America, talking like the Brits on TV generally isn't a good idea.

if anyone watched tonight's episode, i thought it was 1000% improved from the pilot. star in a reasonably priced car was much better, each of the "review" segments was better, and the drift competition at the end was awesome.

I agree...second episode was a nice improvement. If they are able to keep improving, this will become a pretty solid show. Adam seemed to be the weakest link this week.

What is with the cameras they are using? I mean, it's like TG:UK uses Red pro cameras and TG:USA uses Sony Handicams or something. I just see a stark difference in image clarity, colors, and stabilization.

The Evo X manages to impress me.

The AM Vantage V12 has some weird exterior accents on it that I don't like. Are those for the US-spec version only?

TG US is funded by the History Channel. TG UK is funded by BBC with probably the biggest one of the biggest TV show budget.

It wasn't quite as annoying as the first episode, but it was still just lame. All three of those guys come off as totally witless, and Tanner Foust (the only one who seems to know anything about cars) is the most boring person on the planet.

Cliffs :

TG:UK > All
TG:US = Decent, could use improvement, but a nice extra to have between seasons of UK, good for hardcore fans to have more chances to see cool cars

I liked this episode better than the first. The Evo X bit was nice, but I wish they showed the Stig driving it, instead of just posting the numbers.

i heard history channel is going to cancel TG USA. is this true?

Where did you hear that? I'm pretty sure they will at least show the remainder of the taped episodes to see if it will pick up steam. The show is far from great...but I'd love to give it some time to incubate and see if it improves enough to be worth the time.

If anything, it makes a good filler until UK version is back on. Its better than watching Fifth Gear.
