Seriously, though... When are these guys finally going to do a fast lap on a Bugatti Veyron? It seems oddly absent from that top 10 list.

I take it Bugatti (VW/Audi) won't let them, and no private owner has stepped forward to volunteer his car for testing.

While we're at it, the Ferrari FXX would presumably stomp any of the existing times.

Exactly what I meant - a bunch of a sh*t that doesn't matter one iota. This is a track car that does an excellent job of thrashing more expensive exotics around a road course.

Dude, leave him be.

Afterall, he is from the UK and criticizing American cars.

Actually, the Japanese seem to be doing a better job of that than I could.

The Japanese criticize American cars? No, they just make better cars (and often build them in the US).

I actually like the UK, and watch a lot of your TV shows, but give me a break.

Don't worry about me, I'm just being a pompous Imperialistic Brit who refuses to let go of the glory days
Sure, our days of "normal" car-building are over, but we still have companies like Lotus, Cosworth, Ariel, Morgan, Noble, etc. We've always been good at small, nimble sports cars, and America's always been good at huge-torque V8 musclecars.

Will watch this later.

Love the way the current vette looks but is it using the same tranny as the previous z06? I was able to test drive one at a GM event, but I was not very impressed. I think I expected too much out of it.

We still make plenty of cars and there's one way above the Z06 on the track times list, and it costs less.

The Enzo and it's sister car the MC12 ocupy places three and four on the track time list.

But the best are still imported from japan directly.

A la S2000.

Yep, and you're on the verge of losing yours.

The FXX is one amazing car. I don't know if it would beat the Veyron.

Looks like the Z06 is a great deal, comparatively speaking. Not to mention lower maitenance costs.
And it looks great.

It would depend on how many twists are involved.

I know, but the FXX has much more power (800+ BHP) and is also lighter as I recall.

What the hell are you talking about? The Enzo is often called the F60. There is no production car from Ferrari called the FXX.

Yes there is. They only made 29 of them and it costs $1.5 million. The most expensive car on record. Ferrari picked the owners of the cars and allowed the owners to have their FXXs stored at Ferrari facilities to keep them up and running.

It has no place in this discussion. It's a track car. We're discussing road cars. The FXX does not qualify.

You said There is no production car from Ferrari called the FXX and there is. You weren't talking about weather or not it was a track car or not. Just because its a track car doesnt mean you cant drive in on the road anyway.
