But wow... 123 achievements on steam. This game must be big. But then again, I've already got 4 after playing less than an hour

One thing I see they still have in the game from the beta that i don't like is unusable quest rewards.
I'm level 6. I finished a dungeon that is level 4-5. 1 reward is only usable at level 12 or you have to have a much higher specific stat to use it. The other item is level 11 or another higher stat. 3rd item is a pet collar.

What do you choose?
By the time I can use the higher level items i'll probably have better items or do you guys find that isn't the case?

Or am I spreading out my stat points too much?

ALso what does Fire Armor as an item stat do? Is that like fire resistance?

HAHA, I can see a joke coming up in the achievements. first fishing achievement is apprentice baiter. I bet a later one is Master Baiter.

I love the higher level quest rewards actually. They are far better than any items you can get from monsters, and if you focus on your main stat (dex for an outlander), you'll be able to wear them in a level. I had a real nice bow 110dps at lvl 6 and It has lasted me to lvl 13, and its still kicking ass.

Played for about an hour. I love the fact that I can high level loot but still use it if I meet the stat requirements. I'm playing as an engineer and had a rare greathammer drop. Min level was 11, but since I met the strength and vitality requirements, I was able to equip it at level 6. Now I just need to find some gems to socket it with.

Edit - RPS: "There’s a reason we don’t put scores at the end of reviews, and it’s because games shouldn’t be ranked on some giant graph – it’s stupid and arbitrary. We can say which is our most favourite, of course, and we do. But I am not willing to get into a pie-fight between Torchlight 2 and Diablo III. Saying that, Torchlight 2 is WAY better than Diablo III." http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2012/09/20/wot-i-think-torchlight-2/

After Diablo 3 came out I couldn't go back to Torchlight. It felt so slow and there was no depth to it. Diablo 3, despite it's flaws, definitely felt like the big boy in town.

So how does Torchlight 2 compare?

Torchlight 2 is definitely miles better compared to Torchlight 1. I never played Diablo 3 so I don't know how to compare them. From just playing 3-4 hours, I can say that the Torchlight 2 experience is not linear as it was in TL1. The side quests, hidden areas, and challenge portals(which give loot at the end) encourage players to explore every nook and cranny of the game.

That being said, I don't think TL2 is meant for multiplayer. It just feels better being a single player game. Everything that makes TL2 a great single player game, the side quests and unique areas, would be lost in a multiplayer rush to the next act type of environment.

I'm probably going to get over 100 hours of entertainment from TL2, just from trying all 4 classes. Anything on top of that is gravy. I would pay 50 dollars for this game, that its only 15 if you buy the 4-pack. So just go buy it and play.

Played for about two hours and I already have a complete set. It's nice to be finding some interesting loot after grinding forever in D3 and hardly getting anything.

I like the game so far, but I don't know if it'll be as addicting as Diablo. Mostly it just makes me sad that D3 wasn't made by these guys, there's so many nice features that could have made D3 really great. Hopefully it'll keep getting better as I play.

I dont know why they waste your time in Diablo. Its not like you are paying a monthly fee and they need to keep you forever. (Yet)

Rolling through stuff with my Engineer. Skills for engineer aren't that interesting really. Seems like they pushed the gun robot way back or maybe I'm just mis-remembering from beta. Although that gunbot made the class WAY overpowered, haha. Got tier 1 on the health robot but been putting everything else into the heavy weapons or armor boost passives.

I did like the berserker skills from beta so may do him next.

If you start a SP character, can you play with him in MP too or do you have to start over in MP?

I think the healbot is fairly OP, but I am only playing on normal. It seems easy, so I will try veteran next.

I've played for about three hours and completed the first two main quests, and explored a lot of the numerous side areas and did a bunch of sidequests. My cannon eng is lvl 11, and I really like the class.

I love the game. Every little feature in it from the graphics to the sound to the gameplay to the level design are just how I would design a game of this type. It is a ton of fun, and I can see myself playing this for a long time.

Others may be thinking it, but I will say it, at a risk of opening a can of worms: This is the game that I hoped D3 would be. And at 1/3 the price! Now I really have no reason to go back.

I will be interested to see the reviews. If there is any justice, PCG will give it at least a 90.
