Damn glad I backed this project even though the release date is far away.
PS:T is in my top 3 RPGs of all time and i'm still playing it once a year thanks to GOG.

Nobody cares about poor Divine Divinity :{
I am FAR more excited about Divinity: Original Sin than either Torment, or Project Eternity. It just plain looks like a really fun game. I especially like how indepth they made the combat. That said, I pledged for all 3.

I gave more to DD than any other game except one giving graphic cards.

Unfortunately, you have a point in that DD is still trying to reach $400k to get funded, while this one is at $4 million.

Be nice to see more sign up.

Just got an email from InXile, they're getting ready to ship out the Numenara rule books that are finalized now. If you pledged 250+, you get them. Update your shipping address.

They're looking to ship by 19 July, so I'll snap some pictures when mine arrive.

The game genre SCRRRREEEAAAMMMMS for multiplayer. I had the best memories playing BG and similar games in LAN with friends/room mates. The game looks great but I won't likely touch it due to the absence of MP. I am not talking about MMORPGs, but the ability to co-op play with one or more friends.

RPGs with uber strong stories, plot, dialog, and characters do not lend themselves well to multiplayer at all. One player makes all the decisions, talks to all NPCs, and generally role plays the game while every other human player is reduced to a mule or sword arm.

Hammering in a multiplayer to this game would be more of a fluster cluck than the mp in ME3 was. Better InXile doesn't waste any of our pledge dollars in such a foolish endeavor.

In theory perhaps - in practice no. Complex (multi-storyline-threaded )CRPG's are way more suited for singleplayer experience.

Dugeonhack works fairly well as multiplayer, being somewhat more simple/linear.

I've enjoyed single player games as co-op. Its fun, but its hard to get someone's schedule to sync up and actually make it through the whole thing.

I agree! Dumb question, but what does "C" stand for in CRPG?

C stands for Computer. CRPG = Computer Role Playing Game.

I agree that games like BG don't scream 'Multi-player'. Although I have played NWN multi-player, it is no where near the experiences of my youth playing DnD. Online with strangers you simply do not get the depth of role playing that I would want to see in a game like this. And I would MUCH MUCH MUCH rather have a good strong story line than Multi-Player. Any day of the week. let those who are absolutely dying to MMO games, go play things like WoW. I'll stay with BG:EE and project Eternity and Planescape, etc...

meh. mmos have terrible story lines. Random drop ins suck. Get a buddy on vent, drink some beer and play.

i hope there is enough combat to justify all the skills and stats. there's no use for them in a quest-like adventure.

There is no reason that skills and stats can't be mostly noncombat. I remember getting most of my skills and stat allocations in Fallout 1 to be in speech and barter, and I was able to talk my way through the majority of the game with only a handful of combat encounters.

Footage already looks awesome and it is probably pretty far from done too. Thanks, this should be a great game!

Hmm... might be tempted for the $65 for both Wasteland 2 and this.

To many games wallet is hurting

First gameplay footage of Torment Tides of Numenera.. :awe:

It looks great. They nailed the atmosphere of mystery and wonder it looks like. I still wish they would have gotten the original Planescape setting though..

Earth a billion years in the future? Could be fascinating.

As an aside, I'm not sure if Earth in a billion years would be survivable for modern humans but let's assume they adapted...

The idea is that civilization has risen and fallen multiple times. So there is a lot of technology around that no one really knows what it does, because it was from some ancient civilization. So it's kind of a mix between Fantasy and Sci Fi.
