<< haktmal,

Are you talking about yourself? Think about it! 61" TV for $675? If that is not a pricing error every family would have a 61" TV in their house.

And in defend of the counter arguments:
1. Closed Out Item
a) I've never seen bestbuy close out that low on an item. Their Open BOX are still horrendously HIGH!!!

As for Ionizer argument: He's just trying to say that, "Why in the world would you call Best Buy or any store AGAIN to confirm that it is a pricing error when in fact somebody already did so?"

The RULE of a SUCCESSFUL HOT DEAL IS:
1. DO NOT CALL CSR
2. ASK ANAND SeNiOR ExPeRts OpiOns (If we see that it's good, we're poly rape it first then reply to your message.)
3. MEANWHILE, "RAPING TAKES TIME! PLEASE BE PATIENT(wink wink)". REPEAT: DO NOT CALL CSR
4. WE WILL GET BACK TO U WHEN ITS YOUR TURN TO TEAR IT UP!!! HEH...
>>

Seniors, ha, we'll be lucky if all the elite, platnium, and what lot leaves a bone for us to pick...

Anyway, that's a good sumation, it's a dog eat dog world out there... well at least here...

It's time to move on! Now damnit, find me that 42" plasma for $350 again!

Rape is a bad word for taking advantage of some faceless corparate entity that exists to detach you from your money. It makes it sound too personal.

I can't find the TV on Best Buy.com anymore, but the TV is still in my shopping cart for the $675.00 price. Still won't let me buy it though.

did anybody get a print page on that one? if so you could buy it from them for 1700.00 and use your blue card and get 250.00 off so you would get it for 1450.00 not a bad deal

This won't work, because:

* Item part numbers must match EXACTLY. For the cerebrally-impaired: 61A61 = 61A60...NOT!
* AMEX will want to SEE the ad live on the Internet

Think the best bet is to keep it in the cart...and see what happens.

i was actually able to place my order last night at 2am for the $675 price but it was cancelled this morning and the first time i called to see why those bastards told me that my CC info was wrong, BS i order from the internet once a week know my info by heart. Second time i called they did in fact tell me that it was a pricing error and had been cancelled.

No, not all RPTV's are the same. Most (I think all) HD or HD Ready (also referred to as digital) RPTV's will do line doubling on standard broadcast or any analog signal, and on interlaced DVD. Look at most analog RPTV's and you can see the scan lines and the spaces between them. A digital RPTV does not have this characteristic. And they do not look terrible when fed an analog signal. My 61'' Sony High Scan looks great with broadcast, VHS, DVD, Dreamcast, XBOX, and even WebTV. Will a tube HDTV look better, possibly. But a good digital RPTV will do a heck of a job with a DVD and is more affordable than a projector.

This is a bunch of nonsense. I'm going to Best Buy tonight with my printout of this deal and tell them to cough up or I file a small claims suit. They advertised it, they didn't say anything on the product like "While supplies last, limited, clearence" etc. If they don't have this model and won't get any more in, they can give me the next best one. Otherwise, it's bait and switch as well as deceptive advertising.

Casra - yeah.....ummm OK! They don't owe you anything....they are covered by the price policy that almost all websites have in place now...."not responsible for typographical errors"............. You ain't getting squat.

Prices and availability are subject to change without notice. Errors will be corrected where discovered, and Best Buy reserves the right to revoke any stated offer and to correct any errors, inaccuracies or omissions (including after an order has been submitted).

But I think you got a pretty solid case on your hands Casra! [/sarcasm]

Not that I would really want to be involved in this discussion, but doesn't Best Buy's page then say that they have the right to break a few consumer laws ? If I put on my webpage I reserve the right to rape and pillage does that make it legal ? I kinda wonder if half of these 'advisements' would hold up in court.

They can't reserve a right they never had in the first place. Just like when they claim that their lawyers said the can reserve the right to search your bag and check your reciept when exiting. Not a chance. They can put up all the signs they want. Doesn't matter.
I'm going to give it a try and if they won't cough up, small claims court only costs 20 bucks to file. They may just decide to back off and give it up just to keep the store manager from having to spend a day down there. That, and when the judge sees the print out, and it doesn't say a word about anything but product and price, what do you think is going to happen.
