Toshiba not working

I was using my laptop the other day spilled a cold refreshing beverage that ninja soldiers knocked over. The power light still shows up when that battery is charged or when it is charging. Do you think the CPU could be fried or the RAM or what?
It has been a few months and I have really been too busy to do anything about it. I took it to a near by computer shop and they said it was fried and they wanted to buy it from me for $50 so I know it is still worth something.
Well the board is still getting power so I am not to sure that it's the motherboard. I really need a laptop but I don't have enough money for a brand new one.
It is way out of warrenty time zone.
Bought it in 2003 for $800, Celeron M 1.5GHz, 512mb, 40gig, built in 802.11g/b/a. Good notebook for the price at the time.

Best guess is that the motherboard is messed up. If you have dried up beverage on the motherboard it is probably causing a short somewhere. What you should've done when the spillage occurred was disconnected all power and turn the biotch upside down with a towel underneath to collect all the liquid. Then taken it apart, soaked up the remainder with a towel and afterwards wipe the motherboard, keyboard etc down with 99% alchohol. Let dry and then power up.

Since you didn't, you could just try taking it apart and wiping the mobo down with the alcohol. Chances are though that the mobo and keyboard are kaput.

My next suggestion is to dismantle everything (LCD, ram, chasis, hard drive, wireless card, CPU, battery, ac adapter) and sell them on ebay. You can usually get close to $400+ if you sell everything separately. Hell you might even be able to sell the damaged mobo and keyboard for a couple of bucks. Takes a little more time to do this but it's much better than getting just $50 from a computer shop.

Ahh well it wasn't me personaly who spilled it. I spilled sprite two times on my old laptop and it still works. I am going to take it apart today and see what I can do. I think it is socket 478, and I just happen to have a NIB 478 motherboard lieing about here. I am going to test out the CPU and see if it works.

If it's a Celeron M then it won't work in a 478 mobo. Celeron M's are socket 479 (same as Pentium M).

Check Toshiba's specs on it before you try putting the CPU in the desktop motherboard -- wouldn't want you to ruin it!

Yeah it is a 479 (I wasn't too sure if it was Celeron M or just Celeron...).
Well I took it apart and cleaned it and still nothing on it. I get a flashing orange light (which indicates that it's charging). Ugg I will try a few more things.
And more ideas?
