The way that plasma tv proliferation is going though, I should expect that you can get a 40 inch+ plasma for that price very soon.

in the next year.
hell, the local fry's had a 42inch plasma going for 1500 the day after thanksgiving, but obviously thats a one time thing. 40 inch plasma going for 1700 or 1800 should be a fairly common thing in the next year.

Ok I take that back, I just mean HD doesn't look as good on a projection for some reason.

Toshiba ProJo's are some of the best. Very reliable with a super bright picutre. My parents have the 57H83 and love it. HDTV looks better through component versus using DVI.
I am thinking about getting a 51H94.
IMO CRT ProJo's look much better than the new DLPs and LCD Projections.

That's because CRT projection TVs require extensive tweaking, which costs $300-400 if you hire a professional technician to do it. Many people on avsforum do it themselves. But most regular people don't even know about it. They just get it out of box, turn it on and just watch it.

wow dude you must need really thick glasses ...
the only problem with that RPTV in the link is that its CRT RPTV. This means its susceptible to burnin (where as the new DLP's arent) and it weighs a ton (my new 50" DLP is only 77lbs), not to mention the picture over all isn't as great as the newer types. if you plan on gaming with your TV i would suggest not getting a CRT RPTV due to the fact that burnin can occur on them. The reason these CRT RPTV's are dropping in price is because new technology is taking over the RPTV position (dlp and lcd).
i personally wouldn't get it, but it is a great price on a 65" mammoth TV.
EDIT: and as far as DLP's go, i can tell you toshiba is good. it was between the samsung and toshiba for me, and i went with the samsung (personal opinion that it looked better). so i would assume the CRT's also look good for toshiba.

Are you smoking crack? DVI is better than Component..
If your DVI connection doesn't look good , then it's probably the digital tuner..
Plus you get additional component connections for other items.
I have HD Cable Tuner on DVI
Xbox on Component 1
DVD on Component 2
Newer Digital tuners does really well on DVI..

DVI is not always better than component. It depends on the individual devices being used. Read the AVSForum... you will find those who agree with me. How did I find out component looked better on the Toshiba? I bought my parents a nice DVI cable and hooked it up without telling them hoping they would notice that the picture looks better. Nope... they called me and asked why the HD doesn't look so good anymore....
