For $100.00 less we had the IBM A31 deal 10 days ago! It was a great deal ( I got one too) but with only 1.6 GHz pentium M processor. I wish I'd have waited. This Toshiba laptop is loaded indeed. Good luck to the ones interested!

It been on amazon for a while, only reason I havent gotten it is the weight. I am not really looking for a desktop replacement but a portable. Too heavy for me. But this is a good deal if u dont mind the weight. nice job.

the only thing good about it, is the battery lasts like 4 hours from what i read on pcworld.



isnt exactly cheap cheap either. it'd cost you less to buy a dell i8200 or something, or a compaq 1510t with similar specs.

Well, I truly beleive if you want a loaded desktop replacement laptop this is it! Yes, you can get the dell 8200 and compaq 1510. First, both of them suffer
from reliability issues. Second, for this price, they simply do not provide the same specifications. I agree, this is a heavy laptop. But I have owned the 8200.
That is definitely not a light and portable laptop either. And, with this specifications it would be several hundred dollars more. The only worry using desktop processors is the short battery life. Well, this is not the case with this one at all. Long battery with a desktop processor. I see some people have problems with having a desktop processor in the laptops. Well, beleive it or not, this works just perfectly and IT IS A REALIZATION that a lot of manufacturers are following.

And... on top of all that..reliability....Toshiba's reliability cannot compared with 8200 or 1510. Well, this is my feeling anyway. It is based on research and experience at least with the 8200 and briefly with the 303. I do own a thinkpad (that I love) that I got for almost the same price of this but with only a P1.6 M processor. Godd luck anyway to anyone looking for a laptop!
