in response to the wireless option.
My first toshiba which I took to goobs of lan parties, there was a trap door on the bottom of the unit. this was a 1905-s303. I took a dlink wireless pci card, opened the metal cover, removed the minipci wireless card from the pci adapter, and transplanted it into the minipci on the bottom of the notebook.. the antenna wires were already built into the lcd assy.
This notebook (m35x-s111) is stripped. if you remove the cover behind the keyboard (Pry from rt and left sides w/ lcd open as far as it opens.. then the 2 screws that hold the keyboard in place, (voiding all warranties and risking breaking/tearing the mylar ribbon cables), and peer around, you will find a missing mini-pci slot. the solder pads are on the motherboard but unless you are an expert in soldering the connector onto the motherboard... there is no easy way to make it work. I've comptemplated putting the slot on mine, but who knows what support components would be required to have it functional. there is not even the antenna wires in place like my old toshiba... i'll only attempt this when the unit is beaten up and almost unusable. it isn't worth risking killing a $500 toy for the inconvienence of a pcmcia or usb wireless.
cool thoughts tho. the molding is in the plastic for it... snicker.... and no, this is not a gaming machine. shared video ram sucks. always has, always will.
