Cruise basically plays himself in every movie, which works for movies he is correctly cast in.

As for the new Total Recall, IMO it succeeded on the "big dumb summer action movie" front, but not much else. If you can ignore the original and turn your brain off, I've spent two hours watching much worse movies.

For those of you referencing "In Bruges" as a good movie, you can all go fuck yourselves. I am here to save those from making the same mistake I did and listening to fellow ATOTers. I had to fight myself to finish this movie. About three times i wanted to throw in the towel, but somehow held on long enough so that i can now swap war stories with Vietnam POWs about hell on earth, and when they hear my story of pain and suffering, they weep for what i have been through.
Please, those of you considering watching In Bruges, heed my warning.

Dont watch the original Total Recall before watching this movie. The new one is almost a carbon copy except for new special effects and no mars. It was almost scene for scene.

I watched the original yesterday for old times sake and tried watching the new one today but was completely bored out of my mind because it was almost scene for scene. Special effects doesnt help this movie at all.
Weird thing, Colin Ferrell was fine. It was Kate Beckinsale and Jessica Biel that was completely bland. Sharon Stone was much better.
Back in the days, with Arnold a fight was fun to watch. Also because of his size and strength. They should at least have casted an actor with more physique.
And the ladies look nice, but they just do not seem convincing. Kate Beckindale just does not seem believable without vampire augmentation. And Jessica Bil just seem to only have that hot body.
