Arrrggg here we go.
Bought a 7600gs from newegg the 58$ one 3dfuzion.
I put it in and reformated the system using the most recent drivers all the way around.
Im using 3800x2, Biostar Tforce 939 board , 1 gig ddr 400 ram , 430 watt cooler master
rs-430-pmrs power supply, in a very well ventilated case.
I flashed the bios on the motherboard. I reinstalled 2x trying to get it to work.
The moment i pull out the card and use onboard vid freezes stop.
If i put in a 5500 fx i got sitting around NO freeze.
And how it hangs is just odd. For example i was burning a dvd when the dvd was 90% burned
the screen froze NO mouse movement nothing, BUT the dvd finished burning and worked fine. Im so freakin lost.
I read that there may be an issue with the 7600 gs and the tforce boards and the solution they offered was to use the 91.29 beta forceware drivers. Tried that to no avail.
the point im at now is 1) the power supply is not good enough or 2) the card is broken or 3) 7600 gs just hates the tforce boards or 4) god just does not want me to play call of duty 2 .
so i started drinking..... 2 beers in and im begging for help.
tomorow i plan to call there tech support (probably to be told that is my comps fault)
sigh.....
help appreciated
thanks much
