Surprisingly, even though the Hero lacks a hard keyboard it's not much thinner than the TP2.
It will be interesting to see if the CDMA version on Sprint/Verizon will exhibit the same sluggishness as the GSM model reviewed recently. Hopefully, the CDMA version will have updated hardware or tweaked software to make it more responsive.

i don't understand how the tp2 could be that much faster than the tp. The cpu and memory are still the same, no? the modding community has already made lean versions of wm 6.1 and 6.5, and the tp still goes slow.

alright, i ran out and traded the pre for the tp2. the hardware is nice, has a robust feel to it. windows 6.1 is awful. im sorry, but after using the pre, windows 6.1 feels a lot like windows 3.1, the desktop back in 1990 battery life wasnt that great either. my phone died around 5pm. im not going to wait for the free upgrade to 6.5 either. early reviews gave winmo 6.5 terrible ratings and i can see why.
i cannot see myself getting used to winmo so im going back to the pre and its web os.

I bought a Pre as a birthday present for my wife and will activate it tomorrow. It's a great phone! I'll still take my Touch Pro 2 over it for work, though. Bigger screen and keyboard FTW! Once we get the phone unlocked there will be some good ROMs for it and it will fly!
