i got this "pixelink" touch screen monitor and i know it works because my dad used it on his computer, and it worked fine. i installed it on mine and it doesnt want to work.
the monitor itself works, meaning it shows image and works as a monitor should, but the touch part wont work. i downloaded drivers from 3m's microtouch website to try to get it to work but it says it cant find the port. this leads me to believe my serial port isnt working. how can i check to see if my serial port is good and working?
i made sure theres no bent pins and its in the port good.
software doesnt seem to help. i lost the original software tha came with it, but its 3m's microtouch so it should be the same stuff fromt he website.
i think my first step to fixing this is to see if my serial work works, how do i do that?

edit: i forgot to mention that i have a dual monitor video card, could this perhaps be part of the problem? i currently disabled my regular monitor and have the touch screen monitor as my primary and turned off the other one.
