No, seriously just call the cops on his ass. My best friends older brother was even worse then that. He'd told me all kinds of stories. One time when he was a little kid, his brother asked him to get him a chain for the tractor. When he brought the wrong one, his brother hit him with it. When he was about 12 he beat the crap out of him so bad that he couldn't walk. So he dragged himself inside and called the police. Things got better after that. He'll keep doing this sh|t because he knows you aren't going to do anything about it.

Well, most of you seem to agree that I need to do something about it myself, or it will just get worse. I'm not sure of how he'd react to getting his ass beat, because that would just anger him more. However, I suppose doing that would give me the time to get the police involved to set him straight. At first, I didn't want the police involved because it was only me in danger, but as has been mentioned, others are at risk too, both now and in the future.

I think you misunderstand. Him getting his ass beat is just going to make him take out his aggression on someone else. Call the cops. Inform your mom of what you're going to do, make sure she'll stand by it, and call cops. Simply kicking him out isn't going to help anything.

In any case, he's probably going to perceive it as his family abandoning him (if that's somethng you're worried about). The difference is that kicking him out leaves him to his own vices, and puts himself and/or others (his GF) in potential danger. Being charged with assault will probably land him with a court order to get therapy, which may help him and everyone's relationship with him tremendously.

Well, I've been talking to my parents about it (dad included) and we're going to have a nice "chat" whenever we're all home. He'll be given two choices; either GTFO, or Anger Management (no, not like in the movie).
