I did the Whiskey Row Marathon in 2009. Haven't trusted my vehicle to drive up the mountains to Prescott to do it again, after that trip I had to drop 2K in repairs.

Trying to get back up there this year though, depends on whether I can work transportation.

Also, I'm looking at this Mount Lemmon Marathon in October.

Should be a very scenic, 26.2mi uphill course. And a flatter drive for my old Corolla.

Good lord, dude! That Mount Lemmon elevation profile makes me cry just looking at it! I'm doing the Twisted Ankle marathon in May (http://www.rungeorgiatrails.com/maps.html); I did the half two years ago and had to walk up the steepest section of the course (affectionately referred to as "Becky's Bluff" after the RD); I guess the full has two such ascents. Can't wait!

uh, timed 1 miles in middle/high school? I guess the 5ks I did last summer were harder, but the only one racing was me...

Uh, train harder.

I train hard, but I hate running. Not only am I not built for it, short stocky legs, I'm also too heavy(240ish) to run any sort of distance. I think I got my 5k to a little over 30 min which was fine with me. I highly doubt without a major change to my build that I will be running more than 5k. However I do need to start running again as it start to warm up, which will be hell.

The toughest race I've done so far is the Sehgahunda Trail Marathon. This year I'm going to do the Virgil Crest Ultras 50M, that is going to be TOUGH.

The first race I ever did was an 8k in February a couple years ago. That morning it was right around freezing and it was raining. Probably the first 2/3rds of the race were on pure ice with most runners crammed single-file against the snow bank on the side of the road to try to step on a slightly less solid surface. By the end, there were thin trails on the road where cars or the runners ahead of me had scuffed the ice off.

Somehow though, that has remained the fastest 8k race that I've recorded (just under 48 minutes). I could blow it away now though and I think I will try to do a couple at that distance this year.

Did a 12 mile road march in Afghanistan with flak jacket, m249, 1000 rounds of ammo (roughly 75 lbs of gear) and boots/uniform in 2:45

That's got to be a winner.

I've ridden (NOT raced) several of the climbs the pros ride in the Tour de France. I can't even imagine that level of pain, to hit up to 5 of those at race pace in a single day. And then do it again the next day. And the next day. And so on . . .

Worst I have done seems fairly tame.

I did a 5 miler last July 5th, at 7 AM it was over 85 and 90% humidity. Did it in 42 minutes, but was rough. End of race was over 90.

Did a few training runs last summer when it was 117. Not much sympathy from me.

Not doing that again this year, I'll be running at night. :/

My toughest race was a 400m (on a track) where I was seriously always running into the wind. That was a weird day. I don't remember my time.

Now that the 2011 race season is about over, any updates? I did complete the Virgil Crest Ultras 50 mile race, and it was incredibly tough. Obviously the toughest race I've ever done, though next year I will enter myself in a 100 mile trail race...

~10 kilometer race with a friend was really exhausting to me (I have flat feet) and I think either he won or we ended up running side by side in the end because we were both pretty tired.

Rowing a lifeguard dory from Channel Islands Harbor out to and through the Anacapa Island Arch and back to harbor. That's around 14 miles each way. With drift allowance, maybe 30 miles total, in the blistering sun.

I was hallucinating big time nearing the return. Couldn't walk for a week after. Puked lots. Harder 'n ironman's I've done by far, much harder than pier-to-peak runs I've done.
You have no idea. Miracle that I lived. Pressure of the competitive race had lots to do with that. And that was when I was in LITERALLY WORLD-CLASS athletic swimmer's shape (for real). Would not attempt again, ever.

I've done the tough mudder races. Well, not sure if they qualify as races, but they are legitimately tough! The obstacles are mostly just fun (climb over this 12 foot high wall, jump into a bath of ice water, run through electric shock wires, etc), but the courses so far have been on ski slopes! Trying to run up and down ski slopes is...well I wouldn't walk in any other race, but you kind of have to, and you'll still be struggling to make it to the top of them. The courses go for about 10 miles too, so they're a decent length, and take over 3 hours for most people.

Uh...a 5k with a single tiny hill along the way . I've never trained for distance til this year, but I'm trying to make it part of everyday life...at least every-week life. I've always been more of a sprinter, so my reasoning tells me anything over 1 mile is distance.
