Is it just the concept sitting on a trailer?
There were rumors that the next Supra will have similar bodylines to the Volta... but rumors about the Supra always tend to be that. Just rumors

Why do not other sports cars do it? It seems like silly marketing crap to me. I know an electric has nice low end torque, but even the million dollar exotics don't have it, because gas still reigns supreme.Originally posted by: Apex
Hybrid on a sports car because of the immediacy of the torque on an electric engine. It's instant power pretty much from idle.
That's why the VW TDI, which out torques a Civic SI, is slower?Originally posted by: Evadman
Torque > Horsepower.

That car is so bleeding stupid. The absolute last consideration of somebody buying a sports car is gas mileage. When you're paying many thousands in a TOY, tons of money in insurance, and then you don't even drive it much anyway, why would you care if it gets some extra miles to the gallon?

So, why make it a sports car? This thing simply has no target market, except those wanting something weird/different. The hybrid market is absolutely not catered towards those who put so few miles on their cars.Originally posted by: Hardcore

Well geez, let me think... maybe somebody would want a hybrid, but also a decent looking car? Not everybody that buys a car cares about total hp.
Nissan wouldn't waste millions trying to give gas savings to a sports car, which is bought by people who couldn't care less about it.If it were a Nissan, you'd be spankin' to it right now
