TP X40 battery mishap

I was using my laptop in bed and it was resting on my sheets (is this
not good for heat circulation?) and when i was done i decided to take
out the battery and put it back in, when i did this a bit of my sheets
got seeped into the back of the laptop with the battery, it was tight
trying to put the battery in and i was like, this is tighter than
normal, i forced it a bit the first time then i let off, and i
realized what was happening and took the battery back out, it was in
there for maybe 2 sec. i put the battery back in normally after and
all seemed ok.. did i damage anything?

Well as long as it is working, you are alright.
The connector is housed in plastic, so unless you somehow managed to mess up the contacts (which I doubt since it still works), you should be fine.

Bring a woman to bed not a laptop! :laugh:

I had a friend who was resting her laptop on a pillow and it cooked it. Every laptop (even centrinos) need a little space beneath for air circulation. If you're going to use it in bed place it on top of a hard book or board so that heat doesnt build up beneath it.
