http://youtu.be/OwHpR8mPV5o?hd=1. Video is kinda washed out cause it was late in the day. :/

My second time at Buttonwillow. My previous best lap was 2:23 in May. My first full lap Friday was a 2:20, and by the third session my clean laps were 2:14s. Next time I'll be shooting for 2:10.

Carbotech XP10/XP8 race pads made a huge difference in my confidence level this time. I used Trackmaster on my Droid to capture data, and Dramamine to capture my puke.

Had a blast. Get out on a track, everyone!

Awesome. Wish I could have gone.. I knew a couple people who were there; drivers of the orange and green 350Zs.

I didn't hear the VTEC kick in y0

Looked like a lot of fun. What tires were you running on?

225 RS3s up front, 255 Star Specs in the rear. Car felt balanced.

Edit: And as for VTEC, mine kicks in at 4800 RPM, so I was in VTEC the whole time.

Next time I will need to drill my head or add a catch can to deal with oil blow-by in hard right corners. I was spewing blue smoke and used 1/2 a quart of oil during the day.

s2ki.com tells me that s2000's need brake upgrades for heavy track use. Cracked rotors

Any car needs upgraded brakes for heavy track use unless you're running serious brake hardware from factory (CTSV, ISF,etc)

Cracking rotors are mainly the guys who run drilled/slotted. Blanks and XP10/8 is a great combo and won't have any issues.

I certainly wouldn't recommend using the stock brake setup unless it's your first time. Even then, you will have to be easy on it as you will overheat them pretty quickly. That's one thing the S2000 lacks, proper pads/fluid from the factory.

Based on your sig you probably have the same problem I have... Poor C5/Z06s lack beefy brakes (rotors) as well. They will stop good with track pads, but I crack my rotors every 2-4 events (and the calipers spread over time as well).

I ran stock pads and racing fluid my first two days. Day one was fine. Day two I had a lot of fade on track and had to hold my entry speeds down to stay safe. Also, I killed those pads with those two days. Running the XP10/XP8 on fresh blanks, I had no fade and no cracks, and the pads barely showed any wear.

That coincides with my experience, except I boiled the stock fluid in the first few sessions when I was on stock hardware :thumbs up XP10/8 is a really good combo for these cars.
