I realize I can play Oblivion just fine with my current video card. However, playing it will be a sort of mystical/spiritual experience for me, and as such I want the game to have as much "visual uberness" as possible for the entire duration. I don't mind waiting.

I slapped an NV Silenver 5 rev3 on my 7800 GT CO. Sucks I'm gonna mess up the sticky memory pads getting it off to make card stock again.

Anyone know if the NV 5 fits the 7900GT Superclocked? Or how about this one:

I'm 294 in the queue for the 7900GT CO Superclocked. But I'm a little nervous now that a couple of people have started threads saying they can't get their new 7900GT's to work.

I'm going to be watching that situation very closely before making a final decision on whether to go through with upgrade.

If you do it carefully you can keep the memory pads mainly intact. And yes the NV Silencer fits, but you may need to cut off a part of it in order for it to fit in your case . . .

And yeah I've been stuck @ #17 for the past two days . . .

EVGA has been doing everything possible to improve the ease of use with our Step-Up? program.

I just finished getting information that I hope everyone will be excited to hear ?

If you have cards in the 7600 queue, these orders will be released today.

If you have cards in the 7900GT queue, these orders will be released by end of next week!

For those of you that are in queue for either the 7900 GTX or 7900 GTX SuperClock? products, due to supply/demand constraints, shipments will take some time to get through the queue, so please be patient.

Previously, if anyone paid more than the MSRP posted on our website, you would not be eligible to use our step-up program. However, we have made changes to our program and now we will accommodate those customers that wish to use the step-up program.

For example, if you paid 599.99 for your card and you want to step-up to the 7900 GTX SuperClocked? Edition, you are now allowed to do this. Our system will recognize this and you will only be charged the shipping / handling fees. There will be no credit given for the higher price paid for your current card.

I hope everyone is happy with this updated information as we are working hard over here at EVGA to make sure that we maintain the highest level of customer service.

This is such a good company that this cant last too long before bean counters take control and ruin Evga forever.

Thats just my take on it.. too good to be true. They'll get a huge following.. and systematically destroy it by milking that base for years until its gone, the company goes bankrupt.. and someone else takes their place as the #1 video card provider.

Hope they always stay lean and hungry like this.

The margins in the video card business are good, especially at the high end, so I don't think the step-up program will cut into them that much.
