I purchased the 7800gt superclock with the free motherboard from newegg.

Today My RMA# was given to me from evga to step up to the 7900gt superclock (total cost 10$ shipping each way)

I registered for step up the very first day the 7900's came out. (hmm cant remember that date exactly >.>)

so from release date of the 7900gt ---> march 20th. Shipping the card tomorrow (so i can atleast play oblivion for 10 minutes)
Ill update you all when the new card arrives. Also Ill share benchmarks as I seem to have trouble finding reviews for that specific card.

I got my 7800GT from Monarch about a month ago for about $250 after rebate. I have got my replay from EVGA to step up for about $70.00 to 7900GT CO.

If I wait a little bit, will I not be able to get a 7900GT from a retailer like Monarch for a lower price when they have a deal?

You might be able to. The problem is will you be able to get enough from selling your 7800GT so that the difference in price is less than $70? My guess is that you probably won't be able to, particularly if eVGA starts to refurb dump all of these used cards on the market.

Now that we guys are getting close to sending our cards to eVGA, how are you going to do without a video card for two weeks or so? For those of you who have two cards in SLI, it's easy .. send one while use the other. But what are the rest of us doing?
I was thinking that maybe I can buy a PCI card for $5 for this period. Those old cards will work, right?

I bought the combo from newegg and the day I got it applied for the step up program, never opened card and will send it in the original unopened box, packed in another box.

Got my RMA approval today also. Im thinking i will wait a week and see if anyone gets their cards back that fast. Im also thinking with so many people sending them in today it may back them up some. I really want to play Oblivion and we have 14 days to get the card to them i figure ill wait about 5-6 days and maybe send it in UPS 2 day on monday. Please anyone who sent their cards in today post when you get yoru card back so the rest of us can gauge a time frame. Please post how you sent it and what shipping you paid for from Evga in return. Thanks guys!

There was another thread that asked that same PCI question. I believe that the general consensus was that it would still work as long as it wasn't PCI 1.0 (or something like that).

I'm not 100% sure what I'll do, but I've been contemplating "test driving" an ATI x1600 pro from a certain major retailer Gotta love those generous return policies

Well I have a PCI card coming soon, and I still have my laptop and 6800GT system, so I can still game a little during this "down" period . . .

I sent my card in today and it should be there by tomorrow (I live about two hours from eVGA's HQ). I sincerely hope that I can get the new card by friday, but I'm not counting on it.

I'm officially an idiot. I somehow forgot to put in the auxiliary power connector along with the rest of the parts so I'm gonna ship it out tomorrow morning in the hopes to prevent a 15% restocking fee. I've sent an email to eVGA explaining everything so I have my fingers crossed . . .

I couldn't find my 6-pin adaptor cord either, so I've got my fingers crossed as well.

Someone said earlier that eVGA will do a cross ship if you don't mind having them place a hold on your CC. That's something that I'll have to do but has anyone else tried it? I sent my invoices on Friday and got my approval yesterday.

Sent in my 7800GT today. I was hoping to buy another 7900GT for SLI while I waited for the step-up process but I can't find any in-stock anywhere. Some places have a ETA of March 28th . . .

I'm sorry, but that person was wrong. eVGA will not cross-ship cards with the Step Up program, period.

Nope. As long as you ship them everything that was included when you purchased it, you should be fine.

I just got back from OD to ship my card. Almost $25 to ship via 2-Day Air!!!! What a rip-off.:| Oh well. Probably won't see my 7900 until next Friday at the earliest. Should've spent a little more to have them ship it faster. I kinda wish that they would ask for your shipping preference during the confirmation phase.

Well, eVGA got my card at 9:38 this morning. Hopefully I beat out all the incoming step-ups and I'll get my 7900 by Friday. *crosses fingers*
