And I would prefer to use my laptop for work and other useful stuff while I wait for the 7900 to arrive. I think I can happily miss on a few playing days (And everything else that the desktop gives me) for upgrading from 7800 to 7900 for almost nothing

Well.. while its a great deal and better than having to sell the card on Ebay..

its not that much of an upgrade either moving from a 7800 to 7900.
Its just nice to have higher end engineering, a bit more firepower and still have one of the most power concious cards ever created with such horsepower.

The 7900GTX with Nvidia's world leading mobile power saving tech + 90nm makes an engineering powerhouse that has no equal.

CRAP!! I just found out about this today and my card is one week past the 90 day cutoff!! I feel so.... cheated... *sob sob*

Guess I'll have to actually pay $500 for that 7900 GTX instead of $200.

eVGA.com has received your RMA shipment and your stepup is in process. Once your RMA has been completed, you will be notified through the email address you supplied during the RMA submission process.

Just arrived there Today 3/27 for step up on 7900GT CO. Will keep updated for those with that card and el cheapo ground shipping return like me .

Do you have to Pay once they recivee your card?

Just curious if they verify that the price is this much and it came with all contents etc and then ask u to pay for the new card? Or do u pay teh diff when u ship back the old card.

When you signup for the step-up program, you're told what the upgrade will cost and you enter in your credit card information. They will charge your credit card when they actually ship the new card to you.

Yes, it's a retail box. No, there aren't any games that come with it.

Has any one here lately received a 7900gtx SUPER CLOCKED upgrade from eVGA and please be specific?
My patience starts running out for one of these as I stated in one of my early post that it'd take 8 months to see mine at the rate eVGA is shipping.

Yeha EVGA has been clearing out the CO's mad fast. Anyways I think I will just let the 6600 GT stay with me till the step up materialises and then I can sell off the card that they send me. am sure there wont be a lack of demand of a New in box 7900 GT

You might want to sell XFX off when you get your step-up .. cos the double-lifetime warranty of the XFX might make it more valuable to the buyer (Assuming that your eVGA will be already registered to your name as you are getting it through step-up)

I bought another 7900GT from Newegg to have on hand while Step-Up was in progress, so I'll be SLIed eventually. I feel for all who are w/o their rigs due to the lack of CI-E cards to fill in. That's why I bought the 2nd card. Sucks for those less afluent. They really should do a cross-ship deal where they bill you for the card they send and then credit you when they receive your trade. Don't send it back? You eat the charge. Simple.
3/27 - Received by eVGA.

Having trouble figuring this out from the eVGA website/forums. Can you participate in step-up from Canada or is it USA only?

Bought a 6800GS AGP and using a normal FX rate looks like I could have a 7900 GT CO Superclocked for ~$100 CDN. Might be worth upgrading to PCI-E for that.

Thanks

Yep, Canada works too. Might have to pay GST on the difference, but they ship through USPS for us Canadians so there should be no customs fees. I noticed they recieved my card last Friday, and the still have not shipped my step up as of ~4pm PST. Oh well, as long as I get it in a reasonable amount of time I'll be happy. I'll let you know when I get the card exactlty how much I had to pay.

Received my first card today with some difficulty.

Apparently, eVGA shipped out my first card with a freakin' age restriction!! I am 19, and they put a restriction on the card where UPS would only fork it over if someone 21 or older signed for it. I was not at home upon UPS' first attempt, so I scheduled a will-call pickup that night. I got to the UPS location and was informed that I would have to bring someone 21 or older up there with me to sign for it (THE OUTRAGE!!). No matter what I said, they would not give it to me. So they suggested that I call eVGA and get them to fax over a note saying to lift the restriction. Stayed on hold for about 10/15 minutes waiting for the 24/7 tech support, then a UPS dude came out and told me that HE was just told that ANYONE that was 21 could sign for me, so I asked this cute Asian girl beside me and she happily obliged.

Christ.. :\

Yeah the UPS guy who delivered it to my door told me about that. Of course, he said that "I looked 21" and that was that . . .
