Total time was about 1 week. I shipped it out via USPS Priority on Monday and it arrived at eVGA on Wednesday. They shipped out Thursday night via UPS 3-Day and it got here on Monday, a day early.

Received my first card today with some difficulty.

Apparently, eVGA shipped out my first card with a freakin' age restriction!! I am 19, and they put a restriction on the card where UPS would only fork it over if someone 21 or older signed for it. I was not at home upon UPS' first attempt, so I scheduled a will-call pickup that night. I got to the UPS location and was informed that I would have to bring someone 21 or older up there with me to sign for it (THE OUTRAGE!!). No matter what I said, they would not give it to me. So they suggested that I call eVGA and get them to fax over a note saying to lift the restriction. Stayed on hold for about 10/15 minutes waiting for the 24/7 tech support, then a UPS dude came out and told me that HE was just told that ANYONE that was 21 could sign for me, so I asked this cute Asian girl beside me and she happily obliged.

Christ.. :\

I had a similar issue with my card. I missed the first delivery attempt and went to the UPS hub to pick it up. The guy wasn't going to give the package to me at first, but then he asked what was in the box and the conversation went as follows:

UPS Guy: What's in the box?
Me: It's just a video card.
UG: Oh, what kind?
Me: 7900 GT
UG: Awesome. So you're a gamer?
Me: Yeah.
UG: What games do you play?
Me: I've got Oblivion waiting at home that I'm installing as soon as I can get this thing inside my PC.
UG: Well look, since it's just a video card I'm going to let you take it, but some of the other UPS employees probably wouldn't be so understanding.
Me: Great, thanks a lot.
UG: Btw, do you play WoW?
Me: I played in the Beta, but that was it for me.
UG: You're missing out, you should come back.
Me: We'll see. Thanks again.

I really lucked out.

Hah! I actually had a similar conversation with the UPS employee I dealt with.

He asked, "Is that a video card, or something?"
"Yeah."
"That's cool, I recognized the eVGA logo."
"Yeah, what games do you play?"
"I'm playing with Battlefield 2 now, and a little LotR: BFME II."
"Cool! I actually play Battlefield 2, as well. And I just got done with LotR."

Etc.. etc..

My RMAed card arrived via FedEx this morning at 9:19 AM local time. We'll see how long it takes to get the replacement.

Well, they just discovered they have a bad batch of 7900s. Perhaps they are sorting out the issue and want to send you a good card. Be happy for that.

Well, I hope eVGA doesn't go ahead and send me a bad card. But since they have officially recognized that they have a problem, I doubt that will be the case.

Good things can happen to those who wait I suppose.

I have read the terms and conditions. But, I have not found the answer to this. I must have missed it.

Let's say I submit my request 2 months after I bought the card. So, it is still less than 90 days since I bought it and my request should be valid. But, by the time they get to me in the queue, it is past 90 days! Will they reject my step-up?

Decisions Decision decisions . . . The wait times were really killing me. Still have the step up going but cancelled my order for the 7900 GT EE at dell and ordered a X1900Xt instead. Ships tomorrow overnight. 100 extra. First ATI card so hope its worth it

No. As long as you are in the queue before your 90 days expires, you will be able to complete the Step Up process, no matter how long it takes to get through the queue.

Okay, now officially 4 days since they received my card. Looks like they are getting hammered or ran out of stock.

eVGA's web site confirms receipt of my card. I hope they have lots of stock of their "revised" 7900GTs.

They don't explicitly ask for the plastic tray. Worth a try? Try sending the card in a static bag wrapped in loads of bubble wrap. Perhaps ! :-/

3/20 - Received notice that my RMA was a go and I was set to send back card.
3/23 - Sent it via DHL, the cheapest way possible. ($8.50) ETA 3/29
3/28 - Received notice that new card was shipped by eVGA.
3/31 - Barring disaster, I'll be receiving the card.

My situation was almost exactly like yours. My card was shipped to me on the 28th I got my 7900GT CO yesterday. For all those worrying about the bad cards, mine was fine. It fired right up and detected 500/1500.

I am very happy with EVGA and this deal.

What makes you to ship your card to eVGA first? I don't understand. Otherwise it sounds llike eVGA is screwing you around.
