the price you purchased minus any rebate

btw, you have to step up to a card that has greater value than the price you paid

this got me thinking.....what happens to those who bought a 512 gtx or the 7800 gtx ko edition?!
they paid WAY over $550

nice, i went ahead and submitted my 7800GT + mobo combo for $330.69 after rebates, and stepped up to 7900GT CO Overclocked

the speeds on that 7900gt version are insanely higher than the retail, hope theres still room to bump it up

People are starting to get emails for the 7900GTX EGS (not CO or Superclocked). Looks like this was the first card to come in stock for the step up. Still nothing for the 7900GT CO Superclock - I'll let people know in this thread once I get my step up email (#1 in queue).

Well, I just got an e-mail from evga (cause I e-mailed them about the same price of cards things) and apparently I CAN step up with the card basically of "equal value". So all I'm paying for is the shipping (all $30 of it )

Any advantage to waiting to Step Up ?? I bought the 518 (bundle) in late January and haven't registered my 7800GT yet. I would think I'd be safe waiting a month until I can pull the card and RMA it for the Step Up. Inventory will only get better as time goes by (at least in the next few months after the initial rush).

mrkun - I was aware of the Step Up programs 90 day from purchase timeframe, which is common sense, but this IS AT, so you were just making sure. I'll Step Up (if its worth it) later rather than sooner and not sweat the process out.

The 90 days starts on the purchase date and not the day you register the card. When your step-up is activated you have to send them a copy of the receipt/invoice, so there's no way around it.

Wow, this thread got long.
Just to put it out there, I put in for a step up on the 88th day of my 90 days.

So I'm glad nvidia got the cards out when they did.

I am glad we have this sorted. A lot of people were asking this question.

That's still not answered. Will they let you step-up (or down, in this case) if you are willing to let go of the difference? Maybe you can ask that in an email to the customer support.

Hmm it seems like the step up to the 7800GT CO edition is moving along very slowly as it seems to be taking one day for me to advance 1 position . . .

That's just from people cancelling their step-up. There haven't been any requests fulfilled yet (for the GTs anyway).

You guys are cracking me up! Especially the ones who put thier name in the que and 2 days later are whining about moving only a couple spots.

Here's how I look at it. I didn't even know they had a step up program till I saw this thread. I bought my 7800GT in February with the free motherboard offer. It runs my games fantastic. Now the thought that I can even get into a program like this and upgrade to a newer faster model card for a few sheckles more blows my mind. If I have to wait 4 or 5 months I don't care. This is freaking awesome and no one should be complaining about how long it takes as long as it happens........in a resonable amount of time

QFT.

It's not like you are without a card until they get their step up units in. I am really glad I went EVGA. Even if the wait turns out to be a few months it is still a fantastic deal.

At least you get to keep the cards (till they need them). There good enough for now. I can wait and I'm not in a rush, I just like complaining about moving a couple of spots

LOL! I joined the que when I went home last night so I'll probably be joining you whiners in a few days myself

I selected the 7900GT CO Superclocked blah blah blah....was that a good choice? It was backordered so didn't give a price. My 7800GT with free motherboard was $339 after rebate

The CO Superclock is $349.99.

Edit: Wrote the wrong price.

Look what I just got in the e-mail:
We have made some changes that now allow customers to step-up to a card of lesser cost than they originall paid. Please note you do not get a refund on the amount.

That was from evga. Just in case anyone cares.

Here is a post ripped directly from the EVGA boards from their admin - it should answer afew questions...

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!!!

EVGA has been doing everything possible to improve the ease of use with our Step-Up? program.

I just finished getting information that I hope everyone will be excited to hear ?

If you have cards in the 7600 queue, these orders will be released today.

If you have cards in the 7900GT queue, these orders will be released by end of next week!

For those of you that are in queue for either the 7900 GTX or 7900 GTX SuperClock? products, due to supply/demand constraints, shipments will take some time to get through the queue, so please be patient.

Also, more great news ?

Previously, if anyone paid more than the MSRP posted on our website, you would not be eligible to use our step-up program. However, we have made changes to our program and now we will accommodate those customers that wish to use the step-up program.

For example, if you paid 599.99 for your card and you want to step-up to the 7900 GTX SuperClocked? Edition, you are now allowed to do this. Our system will recognize this and you will only be charged the shipping / handling fees. There will be no credit given for the higher price paid for your current card.

I hope everyone is happy with this updated information as we are working hard over here at EVGA to make sure that we maintain the highest level of customer service.

Thank you

"If you have cards in the 7900GT queue, these orders will be released by end of next week!"

I guess this applies to those of us that have made requests to step up to the 7900GT Superclocked cards? I sure hope so!!
