Trade in 4 game boy games and get 1 gba game @ EB **SCANS ADDED**

Sorry if this has been posted before.

At electronics boutique you can trade in four old game boy games, no box or manual needed, and get a game boy advance game for free. Now this isn't that great if you only have recent games you paid $30 for, but if you have a bunch of old games lying around this is a great way to get rid of them. The only restriction is that you can't trade in doubles (you can't give four copies of pokemon and get a gba game). And if you're not interested in this, but have games, I'll glady take them off your hands

I dunno how hot this is because game boy advance is supposed to be backwards compatible with all game boy games

GBA IS backward-compatible, but if you want some of the new kickass games it's time to get rid of your salad.

Any tips on to what's the official word on this? How'd you get this info, was it a flyer in the store? Will they take ANY Game Boy game, even the really old ones that wouldn't be worth their weight in plastic?

I originally heard about this on message boards on some gaming sites, but an ad for the deal in one of my gaming magazines confirmed it. It doesn't say anything about a restricted list, so I assume they will take anything.

This local store sells gameboy games for as low as 99 cents. I could pick up the lot and get a bunch of GBA games for under $5

I knew someone that worked at EB when they were running a similar promo with playstation games. Basically, he took 30 bucks with him to the store. Bought 4 of the cheapo games for something like 25 bucks, traded them for a new game that was worth 50, got a store refund and did it all over again. So you can imagine during slow days at the store he would just repeat this process over and over again until a customer came in.

He ended up with a TNT2 (when it just came out), TONS of video games, a playstation, a N64, and a big fat &quot;You're fired&quot; from his boss.

The moral is that, if it can be done once, someone(s) could probably do it again, but on a lesser scale of course.

Do you get a sales recipt for the gba game? If not, you won't be able to return it for anything but store credit, right?

I'm not sure if you get a reciept because when people I know tried this, nothing was out, so they just got a slip that says that they paid for it. I'll tell you as soon as I know.

I guess we can just take the gba games to toys r us and get 85%. Beats the return on E-bay

So we can start turning in game boy games now before the GBA is even out?

Yeah, you can still turn in the games. Some games are out, so if they have that you'll get it, but if they don't you basically get a &quot;paid in full&quot; slip.

Toysrus have trade in days usually around the launch of a new system... You might want to go check on it soon for GBA

i just went to EB...the promotion is 4 gb games for a GBC game! I saw the promotion at the store and asked the manager....this really blows.
