Win 98se on C: XP on D: dual booted. C: is very slow drive D: is 7500rpm Want to make D: master with XP and leave win98 on slave drive. Is this just a hardware solution or is ther software problems i need to wory about?
Yeah that was what i thought Is there an easy way to do this? maby i should ask can it be done? OK can i remove C: and just make XP be on my c /master drive. The programs that would be cross-linked can be deleted and/or reinstaled from backups.
You can find the boot.ini file hidden on the root of C:
You'll have to modify the ARC path to win98 and winXP...just basically switch them.
You'll also have to change BIOS to boot from hdd1 instead of hdd0
After you do this, I don't think you'll have a problem, but you may want to wait a bit and see if anyone else chimes in with an issue I haven't thought of.
Ok i think i understand and that is what i thought (but not in tec terms) I will do more research on a few web sights that deal with multi boots. Bios and hardware settings are the easy part!!!! Windows is what scares me.
