Trade war...Can our Allies (now adversaries) Target Trump Assets?

I'm just wondering why countries hit by US tariffs couldn't aim some of their retaliation directly at Trump owned properties around the world. Like a 300% tax on golf or hotel stays at any company associated with the Trump name. Probably wouldn't be a huge amount of money but might be a message that would sink in.

I mean, even if they directly hit the property with closure notice or something...what could he do without triggering emoluments?

I think that ultimately trade wars are bad for heavy consumer economies of which we are the largest. I will end up paying more and getting less. I like my stuff cheap thank you.

Certainly they can. So many of those "Russian sanctions" aren't against Russia but individuals and businesses. The same can be done to Trump.

China has very specifically, and very obviously targeted the Trump-voting states with their retaliatory tariffs. While I think it's the proper strategy in the real world, it's probably too smart, and simply not simple and stupid enough for the world that Trump inhabits: Trump very clearly, and very loudly, doesn't give a single SHIT about the people and the states that voted for him.

Trump in West Virginia? Ohio? Michigan? LOL.

China (and others) need to target him and him only, directly, and he will move his policy in two seconds. At least, legitimately, his stupid supporters will still agree and be fine with that, but at least they won't also be suffering because of their idiocy. See, as a liberal, I hate to see people suffer, even because of their own idiocy. That's because I know that idiots aren't going to change their minds, anyway. They will blame brown people for their suffering and praise Trump when they aren't, especially when he is only responsible for their suffering.

....but at least they aren't suffering. They can and will remain blissfully stupid, no matter what--but more money in their pockets is generally better for everyone....especially the honorable folks at the liquor store, abortion clinics, and their oxy hookups. Hi-Yo!
