How about not speeding. That works pretty well I've heard. :hmm:

The registered owner of the vehicle is responsible unless they can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the ticket issuer that they are not responsible for the vehicle at that time.

ie. Sold (but plates have not been updated by new owner) or stolen.

They're just about to start using the red light cameras in Tallahassee. It won't technically be a ticket you get, rather a "civil violation" that doesn't assess any points. $158 for the violation. If not paid in 30 days, it becomes a citation and goes to $271. If you still don't pay, your license gets suspended and you can't renew your tag.

The ticket goes to the owner and, if the owner wasn't driving, he/she has to mail the ticket back with the name, address and driver's license # (if available) of the driver. Then they will contact that person. I guess you probably won't do that if it is your spouse or child who was driving.

Gonna try real hard not to get any. Don't want to contribute to the city coffers in that way.

I take it you got a ticket at a red light camera for driving the speed limit, during a red light?

Nope, just messing around, I've never gotten a ticket. I don't really understand how anyone could run a red light, unless they were doing it on purpose. :hmm:

"I don't know who was driving. It's your illegal camera system, you figure it out."

Never got a ticket at one myself, but it's very easy. When making a right turn on red, if you don't come to a complete stop before the line, you get a ticket....

Something like 95% of red light camera tickets are for right on red failure to stop....

Around here, most people slow down, look, and go, but don't come to a complete stop. (that said, lots of people complain about Chicago drivers)
Or, they stop way after the line... so they can see the traffic...

Again you do not recognize the point. If the driver is your wife you are under no legal obligation to incriminate your spouse and they cannot compel you to testify against your spouse.

So, all you do is mail back the ticket with a copy of your drivers license clearly showing that the driver of the car isn't you and they can't force you to tell them who is the driver because it was your spouse...........

In NJ and PA, technically you are required to stop at the line, then pull forward far enough to see and stop again. Occasionally a cop who is in a particularly foul mood will tag someone for this.
