Traffic Conditions on Google Maps

I was just doing some looking at Google Maps and saw a new button at the top right hand corner that said traffic. When you click on it it brings up certain areas where it highlights some roads with white, green, or red lines. Does anyone know what all this stuff means?? Maybe the white means the road is clear and the red means there are backups?

i noticed this on my phone version last saturday.

i think green means good. red means jammed, and white means not reporting.

edit: white can't be slow cuz it's showing white on the west loop in houston, and it's moving fine.

It took a bit to find the info (when I noticed it), Green means >50, Yellow means <50, Red means <25, White is no information.

They've had it on their mobile version for a while now, was waiting for them to port it over.
