We aren't lazy, obviously we've just outsourced our train-pushing operations to India.
I just figured we weren't dumb enough to pull the emergency stop chain for no reason.
Do you actually LIVE in America?
Yep ... Pennsyltucky.
Ahh....right next to NewHampsizonaia, right?
Seriously.....9 out of 10 Americans are that stupid and then some. Don't get me wrong, I love this country and wouldn't really want to live anywhere else, but if this happened here the passengers wold just sit there and wait for a repair crew to come. I'm not saying Americans would never do what they did, just that we're not likely to because we actually have people in place who take care of that sorta thng quickly.
It is not that. The train operators afraid someone will sues if they ask the passengers for help. God forbid if someone sprain an ankle or broke a nail during the help out. Come to think of it, some one will sue the passenger that pull the emergency brake & the train company for not prevent such a thing to happen. i.e. design the rail where the train could stop in a neutral zone.
