UPDATE! (pictures are links, so if you don't want to spoil yourself, don't click on them)
So, my wife and I made it out to their 3pm show today in San Jose and it was fantastic. Everything about it was good.
Al Pitrelli had a great solo right toward the beginning, which I happened to catch on camera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b_QvdgedCVY
The way they started the show was awesome, with all kinds of moving stage pieces and 3 musicians coming down on floating platforms: http://i51.tinypic.com/2hq9pqv.jpg
Their lighting and their use of the stage was pretty cool: http://i52.tinypic.com/2v3lctw.jpg
The violinist was freakishly good and way hot: http://i53.tinypic.com/260dhd0.jpg
They had some LED screens of some kind that had some really cool effects on them: http://i55.tinypic.com/qs117b.jpg
And of course they had lasers: http://i54.tinypic.com/ibidm9.jpg
Did I mention the violinist was hot? http://i55.tinypic.com/wagdo5.jpg
Dude had the best soul voice I've ever heard in my entire life...my wife liked his hair: http://i55.tinypic.com/ws6w69.jpg
This guy didn't stop smiling once the entire show...he was pretty damn good, though: http://i54.tinypic.com/ic7q7k.jpg
The hobo was really good: http://i53.tinypic.com/rh31ad.jpg
Al Pitrelli: http://i55.tinypic.com/2llorbm.jpg
What can I say? I was captivated: http://i54.tinypic.com/50jqit.jpg
They weren't terrible, either: http://i53.tinypic.com/2d9e44y.jpg
The drummer was awesome...had a freaking amazing solo that I would have recorded had there been any warning...alas, it was not led up to as well as Al's, so I was not able to record it: http://i53.tinypic.com/hur2hj.jpg
All of the musicians were very good: http://i52.tinypic.com/20zd0si.jpg
The whole presentation was like nothing I'd ever experienced before: http://i51.tinypic.com/k2046h.jpg
As a whole, it was very much worth the money and the time. The wife enjoyed it very much as well. I definitely plan to go next year. I'm going to try to get a group together to go, because I think more people need to be exposed to this wonderful performance. Their studio albums just don't do them justice. The live show is so full of energy and awesomeness that you can't possibly get from a studio album. The playing was exceptional, as well.
I've got a recording of the soul dude singing a brand new song from a new, in progress rock opera. It's uploading to Youtube now, so I'll update with its link later.
I must have remembered to mention that the violinist was awesome, right? http://i54.tinypic.com/2d9uu7t.jpg
