I recently got an email from a representative of Thomson Financial (http://thomson-financial.org), about my resume on monster.com. They offered me a position at their company working from home making a decent amount of money. It seems slightly odd how their company works to me, so if anyone is familiar with this...please chime in with your thoughts.

Basically, they want me to be a link of transferring money for people using their e-gold thing. I'm reading on their website I basically I have to set up a bank account, have people transfer money to me and I withdraw the money and western union the cash to them to save time. By doing this, I recieve around 6-10% commission on each transfer.

There is more details here: http://thomson-financial.org/?p=faq12

If anyone is familiar with this at all and can provide a little more information, please let me know as I am considering it.

Why don't you just get a regular job like everyone else?

Common sense says "if it's too good to be true, it is."

Well it doesn't seem "too good to be true", it's not like they are offering me thousands of dollars a week for no work. I am just wondering how smooth this whole process is, if it actually works out the way it's supposed to...

There is only 1 Thomson Financial and this is it. Why don't you e-mail the real company with your question...

Why would a company hire someone to do this when it is well within the scope of normal banking practices? Your being scammed my friend.

lol, reading the faq.

3. Why do you need me? Why don't you perform the transfers by yourself and keep the commission?

Generally speaking about the job, we have established this scheme of payments because it is faster than direct bank wires.

???

so customers -> wire to you -> cash and buy MO -> mail -> they cash is faster?

I received one from England that wants to FedEx gift cheques to the house.

They want us to sign and cash them, and send 90% of the amount to England via WU.

As if the cheques are valid. I think not.

If they want to spend the FedEx costs; I can try to figure out a way to string them along.
