transfering 10k pictures from iphone4s, no usb..

Hi,
My wife's phone is pretty broken, it's not recognized if plugged in to a computer. So what is the best cheap(or free) solution to get her 10k photos off of the phone?

Install dropbox, twiddle thumbs?

Easiest way would be to replace the dock connector. That'd take less time than thumb twiddling them to dropbox and uploading.

My wife has a similar habit of hording iPhone pics on her phone.

Slow way to do it is dropbox or google+ piccasa snyc (using full size option)
Get a bunch until you run into space limitations, download them from the website then delete them from the website. Rerun sync to grab the next batch.
Repeat until all the pics have been backed up.

Are you sure the iphone is busted and not the driver\itunes install thats busted?

Yeah, definitely the phone. It looks like it has been through a war. I'm surprised it turns on at all. I've tried it on several computers, no dice.

I wish I could convince her to buy anything without an apple on it, doesn't look too likely though.

I showed my wife how easy it was with a Samsung device, the camera automatically takes photos to the mSD, which can be easily taken out, safe even if the phone goes bad. She saw that and decided she was going Android next.

If you're running a newer Android handset, Google Plus can be configured to automatically upload full resolution copies of every photo you take to the cloud.

The photos are marked private unless you specifically want to share them. You can set whether you want uploads to take place when you're on cell/wifi or just wifi. And Google gives you 15GB free, triple what Apple offers free with iCloud. Bump it up to 100GB for $60/year.

I think that's probably the most painless way to ensure all your smartphone photos are backed up, especially if you're not very tech savvy.
