Transformer Book V: One device that is phone, tablet, laptop?

When docked, the phone's Android interface is displayed within Windows 8, and you can also switch to the full Android tablet interface. In other words, you get five modes in total (hence the name): a Windows tablet, a Windows laptop, an Android phone, an Android tablet and an Android laptop.

My brain hurts. Also, I'm not sure this will ever make it to market. Google and MS did force them to kill the previous Windows/Android hybrid.

I was wondering the same thing. But this time they are putting a phone that runs android and a tablet/laptop that runs windows. So somehow they have got a good argument to counter anything from them.

Previously both Google an MS had a problem with the fact that one device was running both OS'. But this time they've got two separate devices, or three or five or whatever...

Anyway, this is really a great device. But, a video report by mobilegeeks said the screen was 720p, the ports are very limited (only two USB2/3), no display output apparently.

Most probably and hopefully it's a pre-production prototype and we can expect more ports and features in the actual final product.

The dual Android-Windows thing seems like a gimmick that won't work really well.

The phone-tablet-laptop (and eventually desktop too, with a home dock) thing however seems like the future of computing. I won't be surprised if 10 years from now most people are having this type of setup.

Seems like it could be a nice device. Too bad it's from Asus though, which has fallen into really bad habits of showing off devices that never see the light of day. I'd put money on this never releasing.

Yes, there's a program called "bluestacks" that works on any windows PC. They have a version that was made specifically for the Surface, but I don't know about other tablets. I believe the Surface version was special because it even had the accelerometers working properly for tilt based games and such.

Bluestacks on a windows tablet sucks. Screen resolution is a mess and it's SLOOOOOOOW to load anything. Or so was my experience with it on a Venue 8 pro.
