Just got back from walmart and my 6 year old bought this with his Christmas money.
Thats how much it usually is but Wal-Mart has it on clearance, and quite a few in the Humbolt TN area, for $25. Its freakin huge and heavy, got a voice talking stand and it does transform into the truck.

Damn hot deal IMO for the Transformer fans of the original non screwed up versions of Optimus Prime
They only had the Optimus Prime, I did not see any others of this size however. If you do find others chime in where and how much.

The walmart site shows $70 for the damn thing, what a steal in store , Wish they had Star Scream

Just got back from wal-mart. Waife was ready to buy another one to suprise my oldest with it for $25 was jsut to good of a deal to pass on it, same card was on one saying $25 so wife went to buy it, rang up as $50 again. She again said it had a clearance card saying $25, the called back and said it didnt, she got mad and went in back by the toys to show the person working back there. Turns out they picked up the clearance card that read $25 on it laing on the transformer and they lady said it was for something else, some spanish game and then laid the $25 clearance card right back on the transformer again . Wife and I were like, someone is going to thing it is $25 like we did if you dont put it back where it belongs, but she didnt care and walked off. Told my wife we shoud drive to the other walmart with the receipt from when we bought the first one for $25 and just get one there but she didnt want to do the drive. Anyway looks like they are $50, had the wrong clearance card on one, we got it for $25 last time there but no go this time Sorry for the trouble guys, I thought it was $25 till today, $50 still isnt too bad, but $25 sure was better.

Waggy got one for $35, hes got a pic with the discounted price on it, maybe print it out and take it to walmart for a price match??

Sorry I should of mentioned, it was in the toy isle. For some reason our walmart had a lot of clearance toys in the toy isle and not in the clearance isle. And it was new, never been opened, or looked like it was returned.

Has anyone else seen this item on clearance outside of TN? I'm willing to give it a shot, but it might only be a regional thing.

Nice Toy, I remember having one when I was a kid but mine had a trailer that turned into a mini base.

Yea. I went to 3 stores in SoCal: 1 don't have any, 2 have a few for $50. It's nice and big though. $50 is still cheaper than most places online.

Wife said the ours rang up $50 too but they had signs on some of the others that said $25 so she had them go look and check and see that the signs on the others said clearance $25. They did, signs did, we got it for $25. Wife is going back there today, I will have her look and see if they price mistake the boxes at $25 and meant them to be $50.

I guess I'll give it a shot since someone else was able to get it for $25.

Edit: How about some nice pics from whoever did purchase it?

Transformers were so cool, (gobot's the gay) lol, you guys know what I mean.
I always really liked Soundwave, with the cassette pals he had. Of course Starscream and his twin, the yellow bug was in my pocket always. Man, I used to get so mad at my teachers for taking my transformers up and making my parents come and get them. Lets just say they had to be rescued from her desk more than a few times. lol, I actually had to sneak in the room during recess to pick the lock and take them back, 'she was NOT taking them from me!'. That required a good long parent teacher conference. along with my watch/game nintendo toys she always took. oh, the memories.

Looking back at the transformers, they are not as cool to me. I mean, i hand gun turns into a GIANT monster whose equal is a 18 wheeler. ?wtf where they thinking? Voltron was more believable. As was BattleTech. But those toys were hard to come by at your local Kmart.
And GIJOE was a favorite, but ever notice,.. no one EVER gets shot, and all they do for the whole cartoon is shoot at each other.
Best toy line of all time, IMHO thou... He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. The first run/set was just so cool.
I dont know why the reissue failed for todays kids.

oh,boy. I think I just made myself look old. Alot of you guys grew up on pokemon and ugo cards I bet.

Yeah, Voltron was pretty sweet. And yes I always thought hte same thing, Why does no one ever get shot in GI GOE? Thousands of "laser beams" flying around and no one ever got hit. At least "Knowing is half the battle."

if you want pictures of the figure here they are
link

anywho, no go at Walmart in San Jose @ Monterey Road.

price scanner showed 50 dollars even. there was no tag to be found. it was jumbled in with GI joes, WWE, and power rangers stuff.

But I did score the hard to find classic voyager Jetfire/Skyfire.

That thing might be worth some money by the time we retire... so I see no harm in getting one for yourself to keep in the box. Now I don't mean that thing will be your retirement fund, but I'll bet you'd be able to sell to collectors for more than you paid. Maybe a couple hundred depending on how 'limited' it really is.

I remember my parents arguing over this thing when I was about 8 years old because my dad spent three pre-Christmas hours standing in line to buy one. I also remember thinking, at the time, that it was worth it. Ah, the good old days, when toymakers knew about this material called "metal".

This 20th anniversary edition isn't totally metal, but it's got a good bit in it. They seemed to have made the areas which could cause injury more likely (points) plastic, while keeping the windshield/etc. metal. Definately a nice figurine, and the shocks are an awesome touch.

It has a freaking lightup matrix that actually sits in his chest!

My only qualm is that they didn't use his voice from the movie. Its some other voice.
