Good for this person. Always nice to see self declared gender person win something.

She is effectively like the East German swimmers who took horse steroids.

So there is a little loophole here that needs to be plugged. No steroids for any reason and "gender dysphoria" not be considered legitimate.

There is a reason testosterone is banned from sports. I feel bad for the girls who did not have this competitive advantage. This is weird one though, this girl has an advantage over the girls she was competing against but also a disadvantage if she would have competed against boys.

Weird that girls wrestling is a thing. It was nonexistent when I wrestled in high school. By the way, the smell of wrestling has remained with me my whole life. There were guys who never washed their practice gear and I would get close to puking when sparring with them in practice.

Or maybe the state could not bar him from competing against the boys. Like he wants.

This was obviously a technicality. The intent was to keep boys from competing against girls.

I'm sure the good people of Texas will figure out a rule change in the offseason.

Win? A legal loophole allows a person to compete while juicing giving him/her/it a huge strength advantage over the competition and to you that's a win? If some bleeding heart politicians allowed me to beat up 8 year old kids and steal their trophies I'd consider myself a winner for not doing it even if the law said it was okay.

If this girl wants to become a boy, more power to her/him. She/he is entitled to live her/his life any way he/she chooses. But he/she has no business competing against actual girls who are not injecting themselves with a steroidal advantage. There's a reason juicing is a no-no in sports and this kid "competing" in an event that's decided in a laboratory rather than in the gym is an insult to all the kids out there playing fairly.

So maybe Texas should stop making him choose between his gender identity and his ability to wrestle. He wanted to have an even playing field for everyone and the state legislature decided to stick its nose in and prevent him. Classic big government legislation that conservatives are bizarrely okay with so long as it promotes things conservatives like.

So basically if you have a problem with things not being fair here your problem is with Texas's activist government's bizarrely anti-trans agenda.

This is what happens when brainless politicians use birth certificates to dictate policy, whether it be sports, bathrooms or prom.

No Zippy. And given your historical stupidity it comes as no surprise that you need to have this explained to you. I'll talk slowly and try to use short simple words so you can follow along. Ready? Let's begin.

Yes, Texas is wrong. The kid should not be allowed to wrestle girls while juicing.

But the kid is even more wrong. The kid knows he/she is juicing. The kid knows its not a fair fight. The kid knows the other girls have no chance. And the kid is wrestling anyway. The kid has no class and no integrity (and I realize you probably have to look up that last word, but I used it intentionally in the hopes that you learn something.

Hypothetical: Some legal loophole allows you to wrestle, box or lift weights against kids of an age/ability level far below yours. In your case that might be wheelchair bound Care Bear dolls, but whatever. You know that it's not fair, you know the other competitors have no chance and you know that you're being legislated a certain win rather than earning it and you know that the kids who deserve to win those trophies cant because some asshole signed a piece of paper that would turn the entire event into a joke. Would you:

A) Go, beat up the defenseless little Care Bears and dance around the gym with the trophy screaming "I WON!! I WON!!!"

or

b) Say "No thanks, the law is stupid and it's not fair for me to compete when I'm guaranteed to win thanks to labs and laws. I'll sit this one out and let it be won fairly by somebody not juicing."

Okay, maybe that's a bad example because I think we all know what YOU would do. But what would a person of integrity (have you looked up that word yet?) do? Steal a trophy that they have no business competing for or sit out so that the competition is decided fairly?

If she were transitioned I think her birth certificate would have reflected male instead of female. It's definitely a screwed up situation where she had an unfair advantage against the other wrestlers. The logical thing to do in this case is let her wrestle boys, but it could be worse. There's no easy answer for a male to female wrestler, he's always going to have an unfair advantage vs the female opponents even if taking estrogen. What do you tell the girls, deal with it?

There was a loophole in that gender dysphoria is considered a legitimate medical condition. All Texas has to do is say that it is not a legitimate medical condition.

I think he should've been allowed to compete against the boys, assuming his testosterone levels weren't out of line for an average boy athlete. Competing against girls while basically openly doping is crap, though.

If I were competing, I wouldn't play nice at the winning ceremony. I'd walk out and protest.

Seriously, all trans does is destroy women's safe spaces by either juicing the females or letting the males compete in female spaces. It seriously needs to be squashed.

She wanted to roll around on a mat with numerous sweaty men in front of a crowd.

Mack Beggs is a terrible person to try that in Texas when Florida expects that kind of stuff.

I am very curious what the girls he was wrestling against thought. I can imagine the spectrum from outage to vociferous support. Would the reaction of the competitors affect anyone's opinion?

I imagine this law was written with the idea of boys competing in girls sports, not the other way around.

This is definitely an ethnically dubious area and was very much a discussion point on the Rio olympics. The men that switched over to women and are competing as women do have an unfair advantage. It's not an equitable situation here. There are different body genetics at play that give one vs. the other an upperhand. It's a topic that *both* sides of the argument have to approach reasonably and rationally.

I don't know why this was ever allowed to become a controversy. This astonishingly poor sportsmanship should not ever be acceptable. I don't know which is worse, coddling crazy people or cheating in sports.

She's a performance enhancing drug user.

Ban her from the sport for life, end of story.

I just want to tell you that I found this crazed rant extremely funny, hahaha.

I am not at all surprised that you think when the state passes stupid and irrational laws the real problem is with the person who doesn't just give up what they want to do in life as a response. The fault here lies with the Texas legislature, and them alone as they are the ones who forced this situation.

What he did was brilliant in exposing the stupidity of the legislature. It makes it less likely that laws like this will persist in the future.

Probably similar to the in Woman MMA that fought a transgender. *Facts may be off, I read this months ago and I don't like the idea of Women fighting, call me sexist* I remember her saying she had never faced a Woman who hit that hard, she said something about being panicked about the force she was getting hit with.

While the wrestling team may not have been panicked I bet they felt out classes by weight & strength

Obamas order and what Trump just rolled back to defer to the states required that a male to female transgender student be allowed to compete against females. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. If they identified as female then they compete against females.
