The first transporter is one of my favorite movies of all time

Part 2 is getting mixed reviews, but the good ones say it's better than the first one.

A lot of the reviews are saying that the action sequences are totally absurd, but that is what I love so much about the first one.. everything was practically impossible, yet it was so fun to watch and jason statham was freakin badass in it

so anyone going to see it?

yes on DVD. BTW you might like Wasabi (on DVD), it's a semi-silly Jean Reno action movie set in Japan.

I really liked the first Transporter. Mostly for the action and the actor. Ever since seeing Snatch and Lock Stock and two Smoking barrels i have really liked a lot of the movies he has been in.

Wasabi is also pretty good..kinda flaky on the story but a fun movie to watch. Really kinda unknown tho.

I like how his fights scense aren't the "normal" kung fu ones where one guy just goes hand-2-hand vs like 10 other guys. He uses cool things like oil/bike pedals and in this new one there was the whole fire hose scene it looked like. Plus he has an advantage already in the fact that he talks with an accent so the women in the US like him.

If it's anything like the first one, hell yeah. I saw the first one on DVD but I think I'll see this one in theaters during economy hours.

I watched The Transporter for the first time last night. Meh. I got to say that the oil scene had quite strong homosexual overtones.

The first movie was trash (except for the car chase in the beginning), I don't expect the second one to be better. And A8 in place of 750iL? Puhleeeeeze...

Brief synopsis of first one--rap, crazy action and Asian porn-star trying to have a real career. What the heck else would you want? You better bet I'll be dragging the wife to see it!

Saw the trailer in theaters, looks like one big Audi commercial.

i dunno. my local newspaper gave it a D- (ouch!). They said that the blonde haired woman was laughably bad as an actress, the special effects were terrible, and the only redeaming factor of the movie was Jason Stathom, despite the very poor plot and supporting cast.

I might have to skip it... plus, it looks like they made it into more of a generic action movie and less of a car type action movie (cmon, everyone remembers the chases in ronin).

I can't believe you people liked the first one. Hey, I'm all about absurd action movies, but that one took it to a whole other level. It was fvcking ridiculous. NOTHING he did in that movie was realistic, even in the slightest. The action scenes were terrible, as when he was fighting, it was like guys were just coming out of the walls. That's fine if there's SOME logic to why they'd be there or if there's at least only a few added in for effect, but when he goes into the bus station, there are like 20 or 30 guys that attack him, and they're apparently just coming out of the wood-work!

Then, there's the scene where he gets thrown out of the front of the 18-wheeler. Not only is that utterly impossible, but it's one of those stunts that's been done 1,000,000 times, and it's ALWAYS retarded.

It's not like all my movies have to have believability - I enjoyed AVP, and the story was terrible and full of holes, but the action was fun to watch - but this one just went SO FAR beyond any other action movie. I just... man... this is the worst movie I've seen in my life, and you people are all talking like it was a good movie.
