I'm insured through them for both auto and home. Haven't had to use the home part, but I did have an accident back in December '07 (other driver's fault).

I can't say that I was overwhelmingly ecstatic about their service, but it was ok. Although, I've never been in an accident/had a claim before, so I don't have any basis of comparison. The most annoying thing was that I had to talk to so many different people. Brenda from claims, Joe from total loss, Jack from settlements, Douche the assessor......etc..... But it may be like that for other companies too <shrug>

All in all, they had the best price from a major insurance company (no 1-800-Safe-Auto) in my area (Alpharetta, GA). I doubt you would be disappointed in them. How's their price compared to others?

i would strongly suggest going into one of their local offices and speaking with the agent or an associate there. Talk with them, ask them any questions you may have... hours they are open, what they will be able to give as discounts for having multi -lines with them, etc.
If you get a good feeling about them and feel comfortable with them, get a quote. I firmly believe in "face to face" work with insurance agents. If you meet in person, they are more likely to go out of their way for you.

that sounds like a PITA to have to talk with a bunch people.

usually you just talk to 1 person who is the adjuster and thats about it. i'll wait for more people to chime in. i just also want to if this is a stable company that won't go bankrupt.

I'd like to find out more on this company myself.

I currently go through Progressive and my insurance agent told me I'd save $400/year by switching to Traveler's.

Any other experiences out there?

Progressive has been a cinch... especially when filing claims. But $400 does speak for itself here!

Contact your state's Department of Insurance, and you should be able to view the types of consumer complaints filed against them.

My GF is an AM at Travelers. Her auto policy was thorugh them...it sucked so bad. Poor coordination, poor service. She switched from her own company to Farmers.

I'm with Geico. They were cheaper than Direct, Progressive, and State Farm.

Your rates are always a YMMV depending on where you live, what you drive, your age, etc... It's a huge risk assessment equation for them.

Here are some reviews. I've not heard much from AMEX insurance for a while...but folks on ATOT used to say they were the best overall....as does these reviews. It looks like Traveler's isn't far down the list. If you save enough money and don't get in a lot of accidents, a little hassel may be worth the extra dough saved.
