Enjoy Kefalonia! That's where my family is from. You won't have any trouble finding beautiful beaches on the island; they're everywhere.</end quote></div>
Any recommendations on what I should do while I'm here? I visited Antisamos beach, and stopped by the castle ruins and the temple at the hill before you get to Antisamos.
I'm considering going to Ithaca, or riding to Argostoli. A long ride through the mountain road sounds like fun, but my arms are already sunburnt today from riding around.
It's awesome you're staying in Sami. We have a house there, about two blocks from the school. You can see it on most of the postcards.
Definitely get out to Argostoli. It's much more active than Sami, for better or worse. Lots of places for shopping and eating. Assos is awesome, a small village that only recently got electricity. It's really beautiful, very quaint and extremely quiet. The last time I went, I felt very guilty because my moped was louder than anything else. There are also some old castle ruins out there.
On the way to Assos you can check out Myrtos beach, which is quite possibly the most beautiful on the island (a toss up with Antisamos) and one of the most beautiful in the world. Check out Mt. Enos, the highest point on the island, and the underground lake of Melissani, a short walk from Sami in Karavomilos.
I hope you enjoy your stay!
