The judge has now essentially ruled the citizen’s arrest defense invalid.Really the testimony seems damning for a citizen's arrest defense and thus guilty for aggravated assault & felony murder. The events would seem consistent with a self-defense claim against a malice murder charge, although I am not fully plugged in to the supporting evidence. In GA, both felony and malice murder carry a minimum of life sentence, though.

Which basically has turned out exactly how I described it so far according to the court finding in this case. Most of the people around here don't like the idea of citizen's arrests being a legal thing one can do. Most don't even like the fact that private citizen's can own guns in this thread as well. Lastly, I was pointing out where the media narrative as I have known it has been wrong on this case so far. Turns out with how the trial has been proceeding that they are even more wrong than I thought. Especially statements now made by Rodney on the stand.
For a recap of evidence so far presented at trial. Turns out that Ahmaud had been casing places. Had been thought to have stolen stuff. Police had also thought he had. Been called upon to 911 dozens of times without being caught for months. Had been seen in various neighborhood cameras casing other places including the home of a single mom at night. That the police had told the neighbors to arm themselves because the police believed Ahmaud was doing this while armed. Frankly the evidence presented this week isn't looking good for the prosecution at all in this case. The defense still has the hurdle of the McMichael's having a "reasonable knowledge" a felony had been committed by Ahmaud to raise their guns at him first in an attempt to stop him though Up until this past week I wasn't so sure the defense could convince the jury of that. Now it is looking like it may very well happen.
