That is quiet close to where I live ... and yeah, pretty surprising. The Esquimalt base is pretty close to there, and the primary military presence here on Vancouver Island, so I think they just wanted to make sure it wasn't connected to them, hence the over-emphasizing.

CFB Esquimalt, to the best of my knowledge, wouldn't have stock of any M72's as they don't have a SRAAW range (someone might correct me here).

As far as its current state, it looks like the end caps were removed completely, and the weapon was fully extended. The problem here is that to fire it from that state all he'd have to do is push down the trigger, which looks more like a black rubber button.

I'm not sure who's stupid enough to fuck with a rocket launcher they just "found" in a bush. If he had fired it in that area his friends would be in rough shape, if it could even be fired.
