and given lott's clout, and bushie's failure to call for his outright dismissal as senate majority leader, it may not bode well
for his humiliating demotion.

He should resign, if only because he doesn't have enough of a backbone to stand up for what he believes in. I mean, yes, come out and denounce segregation because nearly everyone with a brain is against that. But, somehow I don't think that Lott is truely for affirmative action, so he's flat out lieing to the American public. Typical politician, willing to say whatever he thinks the people want him to say rather than what he actually wants to say.

GIVE ME A FUGGIN BREAK!!!!! Trent Lott is the one that agreed to the interview. He's the one that pushed for the interview on BET. He essentially signed his own death warrant by doing so. If you had seen his comments, you would have been shaking your head at him.

This is my first time watching BET in about 5 years (I too find their slant to be so blatantly obvious), but I can't fault them for accepting an interview with Trent Lott.

It was on right before BET Nightly News, but I don't recall the name of the show. Just turn it on at 8PST and you'll see him make blunder after blunder.

I tried closing my eyes and pretending it was Jesse Jackson on affirmative action . . . then he said , "I'm for it . . . across the board." I know this guy was a professional interviewer but I think he was taken aback by the interview.
