again it will be asked, how the hell was the statement taken out of context?Originally posted by: Walleye
Well, if this spineless weasel is going to be our Senate Majority Leader, I fear for the Republican Party. Yes, the statement was taken out of context.

Now, if this is the way he's gonna be as our senate majority leader, then he sure as hell better step the hell down. If this is what he really is saying, then tomorrow i am going to send him a letter explaining what a gutless loser he is.
and yes, i am going to sign it "Another Member of the VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY." Well, either that or "Red Blooded Republican."
I think the American public, guided by the news media, make far too much out of what politicians say. It is only action that i am concerned about. (well, that and lying)

Although I'm not watching, it is rather humerous that a channel that is only on the air because it cries racism everytime it's ratings say it should be gone and the comedy broadcast on BET are as racist as anything I've ever heard, has the gaul to grill Lott about a statement taken out of context.:|

Because he probably didnt know the full history of Strom Thurman's Career before going up to speak. what did his aide's breifing to him consist of? The same thing that was in the video that was ran on Strom's birthday party. a completely positive image. he wasnt told any subjects to stay away from.
Now, before you answer, tell me this. Did you even watch Strom's Birthday Party? I did. "In .... he ran for the Presidency as a Third Party..." It never tells you which.
Actually, now that i think about it, he made the statement after the video. he may never have been breifed at all.

lol
He was an idiot for going on, and I thought that the instant I heard this. Of course he is going to be fried, and no matter what he says, someone can always take something he says and use it against him. What a foolish thing to do.

Once again I ask, when is BET going to interview Senator Robert Byrd??? Or at the very least, when is Sheila Jackson Lee and John Conyers going to call him out??? I find it quite interesting that he has been very quiet during this whole thing. He is not usually lost for words.

Why are you trying to pass the buck? Byrd isn't the one on "trial" here. Byrd isn't the one that made an ass out of himself a couple of weeks ago.
Byrd's actions today have no correlation to his actions years ago. OTOH, Lott's actions today speak correlate quite positively to his actions from years past.
that's what I'm trying to figure out, it seems like some are:QOriginally posted by: Czar
are people here actually defending what Lott said?
