I am looking for advice. I game on a 30" monitor 2560x1600. I am currently running 3x480 GTX video cards with water cooling. I do not care about power consumption (I am running 3x480GTX) or noise because the video cards will be water cooled. Looking for suggestions on what is a good replacement card or cards.

Thanks in advance.

Tri GTX Titans. There's a good chance three of them will be going up for sale soon on this forum for cheap.

If budget no issue, then 780ti x 2 should serve you well. But bang for the buck, a pair of 290's would do the job just as well and would be the more rational option imo.

If you are going to be water cooling, the only option is the 290/x...ESPECIALLY in multi-card setups. Clearly power/temperature/noise is no issue to you if you have 3x 480's.

Nothing performs faster in multi-card setups at any price, and yet the 290/x cards are relatively cheap. Absolutely go that way if you are looking to upgrade now, the 290 is the best value...but being just released the 290x are going to be the best harvest chips...and may offer much more performance under water (the stock cooler holds them back hard).

The only other thing to consider, is to wait for third party cards with better power delivery/PCB so you can overclock more/better. The current release is OEM/stock only and the default setup (w/ 5+1 phase) isn't the best.

Anybody recommending a GTX Titan is a fool. The 290/x performs on par for HALF the price, thanks to the advancement of technology (and Nvidia's horrific pricing).

The 780ti is an O.K. card if you only want ONE. In multi-card setups it has less VRAM and less performance than the 290/x cards and it costs much more.

In fact, I would say just a pair of 290x cards in Xfire...the newest tests here show they can handle any game at 3840x2160 and you should easily be able to run the high clock "uber mode" 24/7 under water. Should do fantastic at 2560x1600 even ultra settings.

He was just kidding. It was a plug as he will be selling his 3 titans.

I'd agree, but if buying more than one 780ti then wait for the 6gb versions of the 780ti. At 1600p I would not be comfortable with a 780ti SLI 3gb mem if I planned on keeping em for 2 or more years. Too big of an investment and we know the VRAM on 570gtx and 580gtx, previous high end stuff from nVidia that didn't quite deliver vs competition on VRAM are now a hindrance in new titles at high settings. With more VRAM a 580sli setup would be much better off today even though they are 3 years old.

Ultra/Ultimate settings with AA at 1600p are IMO going to exceed 3gb by two years max.

So either the 290x withe the 4gb of VRAM in xfire, or hold up for larger VRAM on the 780ti.

Actually going with used Titans with 6gb VRAM makes a lot of sense if priced right. Now that the 780ti is out and beats the Titan in raw performance the going rate for Titans took a hit.

Don't like to predict the future but a multi card Titan setup is in very limited company for extreme resolutions and performance capabilities going forward.

I thought it was obvious. Apparently not. Some people....

You're not going to sell them for the same price as a 290/x are you? If not then they are a terrible value for gaming. Nobody sells them that low when they do hold greater value for some purposes/people (or for the fools). For the stated purpose of gaming however they are a terrible purchase, even used...unless you are selling at half price (in which case I'll buy one).

Yes, I am. It's the special bronie price. You qualify.

Seriously though, probably around $600 each.

R9's are killing it in multi card setups. Even 280X's are beating 780Tis in some games (multi card.)
