Another nerf to plasma and the jackal, I dont know it seems like they want to force everyone to use autos. The jackal is op but the falcon isnt? or the nj5 for god sakes!! At least the jackal is a more tribes like gun than these friggin autos that every damn class is abusing. End rant, sorry continue on with whatever you guys were discussing.
It also doesn't make any sense that some of the SMG's that are secondary weapons for other classes are better than the soldier's assault rifle, which is his primary.

Agreed, any slower rate of fire projectile based gun is more satisfying to use but its becoming pointless as the whole game is deteriorating into a bullet hell shooter.the only mg in the former games was the chaingun and those bullets spread a lot over a distance. These mg's are dead balls accurate and the rate of fire is super high on some of em. Too many weapons overall really, but with the pay to win formula they are gonna need to keep new shit coming out for sure.

It's true. With the SMG on the tech or the chaingun on the doombringer I can line up on a tiny dot all the way across the map and just press the button, damn near every bullet lands. But then it seems like the whole dynamic of this game is to make it as easy as possible to create carnage.

Also, while I've been dissing the Sabre, I have to say I had fun last night parking on the side of a couple of maps, shooting at flying flag carriers .

2x xp on top of my boost, its a shame I have unlocked all the really annoying weapons already. Let's see jackal check, falcon check, plasma gun check, nj5 check, nova colt check, what's left that isn't lackluster? How's that gladiator thing?

There is no way the LMG on the juggarnaught's secondary weapon is damage rating of one.

That scale goes up to well over 1000, and I believe the max damage per shot for that weapon is only 100, so it's still 1 block like all of the automatics.

Too bad my booster is gone. I haven't really been getting XP like I used to (even with booster) so I haven't been unlocking much recently. Plus with new stuff coming out all the time, I'm finally feeling like I'm at a disadvantage and it's not as fun anymore.

That's why a game like this(pure PvP) should never be free to play. The only way for them to get a steady flow of cash is to constantly release not just weapons but weapons that are clearly better than what you have now, why else would you splurge and buy them. Before you know it there will be more guns in ascend than borderlands and then you have a real cluster@#$%.

It's not just that, they also keep fucking with the new weapons so you also have an incentive to buy them immediately before they get nerfed. So the weapon you end up with isn't even the weapon you bought. At best you just "rented" the newest doomsday device, and within a few weeks that ownage will end after the community cries to mommy about getting their asses kicked. I was having fun at first but this constant tinkering pisses me off.

Because that weapon decimated more people last night in shorter time frame than anything I have seen in this game except the debut of the plasma gun. This juggarnaught mowed people down with it like it was his last meal.

I'm gonna be looking into this game for sure. I've started playing a few different F2P games lately, and there is definitely promise. I can see where the complaining about buying overpowered weapons comes from, that is not a fun idea

Agree totally, I bought the plasma before the first nerf and it was op no doubt but that's why I bought it duh. Then they go ahead and change it twice , its like buying a Ferrari only to have a mechanic show up in your garage a week later and reduce the horsepower by 40%. I like the game but hate a pay to win model and will no longer pay for anything.

Just play the 3 free classes and see what style you like from there with unlocking other classes. For the free classes you get one of each type (heavy, medium, light) and there are 2 of each more of those classes you can unlock that just change up how they are played.

Some people love to go fast and have lots of movement and go light, others want to dish out the pain and take it and don't care about moving fast and go heavy, then others want a mix of both the others and go medium.

That being said, the Pathfinder (free class) is a good one to start with, it gives you a good feel of the game overall imo.

The damage ratings do have some oddities, but considering there are weapons that go from 70ish damage all the way up to 1400, and they have to factor in splash damage and multiple projectiles for some of them with only 5 bars; well I can see why it's a little strange. You can try out all of the weapons you don't own in training however, so you can see exactly how they handle.

I never played with it when it was new, but I bought it after the first nerf and didn't get the big deal. The shot moves so slow that it's hard to be dead on from any distance in such a fast game. IMO you deserved to be hit by it if you DID get picked off. I was so pissed reading about what they did the 2nd time that I haven't even touched it. Plus reducing the amount of stuff you got for $30 annoyed me.

Autos are ruining the experience. Guns like SMGs(or SkillMGs as I say) are very unbalanced compared to the explosive guns. Damage needs nerfed, clip size needs reduced, longer reload time, or some damage decay over distance needs to be implemented. The game is just becoming a bulletfest like CoD. Also a good sentinel can single handily shut down flag capping. The sniper rifle needs a slower rate of fire to penalize a missed shot.

If they would add recoil and have the SMG's scatter more as they travel it would help a lot. As it is SMG's can practically snipe someone just spraying from afar.

They can't really sell you a big advantage. All they can sell you is something different. It's a fine balance, and so far I'd say they're walking that line pretty skillfully, because despite everything people like and don't like about the new stuff, on any given night I can still get into the top half of the scorers for a match, and occasionally into the top 3 or even the number 1 slot, playing just my soldier, or pathfinder, or tech with the standard loadout. My high game so far is 31 kills on the tech, standard loadout. Not awesome pwnage, but at least it indicates that nobody is really OP.

A good sentinel versus a mediocre pathfinder can shut down caps pretty well, but if you watch a few pro matches where their skill is more equal, you will find it's pretty balanced. Besides, if your playing offense, part of your role is to keep sentinels distracted or dead.

As for the auto's, they do have a fairly significant damage falloff over range, as do the hit scan weapons, but I still agree that they aren't perfectly balanced.

Fun so far I like it. What is the key for grenades? Also I bought the pathfinders boost upgrade for cash since it was my daily deal. Once equipped that just gives me better flight right? Nothing I need to activate?
