I have no idea. Default of 90 is good for one monitor, but I imagine with 3 you'd want to consider 120 or something. Just experiment to see if it helps your issue at all.
90 FOV is an archaic value from back in the day when 4:3 resolutions dominated, a properly adjusted value for 16:10 and 16:9 would be 100 and 106 respectively. Unfortunately 3 x 1080p monitors in landscape mode are simply going to be far too wide to be properly supported just yet.

Been running into aimbotters the past few days. I've played several TDM games featuring some guy getting 25-30 kills with an assault or sniper rifle. It's blatantly obvious when you fly over someone at 150 kph and they track you perfectly.
very doubtful they are aimbotters, I've only seen 2 obvious bots in my time and that was only within a few weeks of Closed Beta starting way back in October (basically back when most all of the automatic weapons were still hitscan). HiRez has been doing a very good job of implementing their own anti-cheat system.

The players you see getting 25-30 kills simply have been playing for months already, and likely have been playing Tribes in one or many of its previous incarnations for years.

I say this because I regularly hit well beyond those frag counts and am definitely not cheating

here's a video of me piling up 86 frags in CTF playing an offensive Technician (not at all how the class was intended to be played): http://www.twitch.tv/bojinglebells/b/315123907

I've only played a little of Ascend, but I played Tribes 1 religiously, mainly as a LD Sniper (light defense).

I've sniped many people going so fast they cross the map in 5 seconds (not exaggerating-why I was LD); much faster than is possible in Ascend from what I've seen so far.

What the hell is the counter to a tank in your generator room with a MIRV launcher? Guess another tank outside with a MIRV launcher. Last few days I've been seeing more and more of these guys and it's basically a one shot kill if I'm anywhere near the damn thing when it goes off.

when you say "tank", are you talking about the actual Beowulf Tank which is a giant land-bound vehicle, or are you talking about the Juggernaut, a heavy armor class which has access to the MIRV launcher weapon?

A Soldier with a Spinfusor and an aggressive nature is the best way to put pressure on and take out a tank (at least eventually)

As for countering a Juggernaut with MIRV in your gen room, a Technician with Thumper can work well.

Another option is to try and fight fire with fire, go Jugg yourself. Brute with Fractal grenades is another option to try and clear out deeply rooted enemies.

Plopped down 50 bucks worth of gold last night. Unlocked the sentinel. Holy crap is sniping tough. The reticle is tough to work with. Been playing CTF as a pathfinder defending the base and having a blast. Unlocked technician. Cant wait to place turrets

sniping is next to useless in this game, well it is when you are playing a Juggernaut and than are trying to snipe you. I regen faster than they can get me down in health.

Yeah I meant a Juggernaut with a MIRV. The Beowulf's are actually really easy to take out. They aren't very maneuverable, and you can just fly above it laying down some spinfusor justice until it explodes, which doesn't take many hits, or the gunner gets a clue.

But MIRVs in a confined space... man, one-shot every time. I've been seeing this weapon more and more, probably because people are getting up in levels and getting unlocks. Eventually a coordinated attack can drive one of these guys off, but they get an asston of kills in the meantime.

I've spent 20 so far, but I'll probably spend another 20 to unlock all the weapons and perks. It would take forever to do it on exp alone. I predict Hi-rez will do alright on this game, cash-wise .

You may get more kills in CTF, but not in TDM (whole team only gets ~60 kills total before match ends) AND with just an assault rifle. It's pretty obvious just from dueling them, because they lock onto you like a turret. I've played enough FPS's to know that no one is that accurate. It looks like this:

F2p, no dedicated servers (and thus no server admins), hacking is going to be a problem as the game get's more popular.

its actually the first to 100 kills, it might seem like 60 if your team controls the flag and is getting 2x bonuses most of the round

That being said I regularly hit in the 25-30 range in TDM for several reasons

1. the more seasoned players are more likely to play CTF or even Arena, not TDM.

2. most players out there simply aren't that good at the game (at least not yet), particularly when it comes to fragging

3. a lot of players get discouraged too quickly when it comes to the machine guns and thus revert back to the AOE weapons as a crutch. This is a huge mistake, particularly for TDM which is almost entirely outdoors where the machine guns reign supreme

when you combine all that together it means a player of my caliber can easily rack up dozens of kills while everyone else is muddling around in the single digits.

I seriously doubt its an aimbot you've seen, especially if its only 25-30 kills, and is far more likely its just your disbelief of level of skill. I know I haven't seen one in several months.

And some players have crappy 800 dpi $5 mice form 2005 and are playing entirely f2p and thus are sometimes easily outmaneuvered by players who pay to upgrade their packs for way increased energy and can stay in the air a lot more forcing you to make desperate plays when your energy runs out making it look like you're worse than them but they totally payed to beat you and couldn't spinfusor their way out of a bag of peanuts if they had to start from scratch and yes the fact that I'm not using any punctuation means that I'm frustrated grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Bought the $30 pack a little while back and am glad I did. The XP boost helps keep upgrades coming often enough, and unlocking all the classes gives me options I wanted. First F2P game I've enjoyed, let alone felt a desire to spend money on it.

Of course I understand this, that's why I said 60.

Assault rifle is not a machine gun, it's extremely limited in killing speed normally.

Meh, it doesn't matter the number of kills he got or that you can personally play better than him without hacks. A botter can be surreptitious about botting to the point where almost no one will notice it unless they spec him for a few minutes. I've played enough FPS's and admin'ed enough servers to spot the difference between skill and unnatural aiming, the one guy I spectated wasn't even being careful about it.

Like I said, it's a F2P FPS, lots people are going to try to hack in it. You'd be naive to think it'd be totally hack free. Anyways, I haven't had that many problems (just the few games I played before making the original post on the issue), so maybe it was an isolated issue and Hi-Rez's anti-cheat is working well.

I'm not saying its hack free, just that I think you may have seen a relatively isolated issue

I've seen hacks in this game but far fewer than other shooters

also, I'd be wary of deeming someone a hack from 3rd person spec, its really not very possible unless its completely obvious such as hosing down one target without missing a shot only to whip around with a 180 and do the same thing to a target he shouldn't have otherwise known was there

I'm thinking of getting the "bounty hunter" primary perk now and the "potential energy" perk later on. How does that sound on a TDM pathfinder who's only interested in getting kills?

edit: by the way can I carry more than 2 weapons at a time (besides belt weapons)?

One thing I've noticed over the last few days is a lot more people with advanced weapons unlocked. Whereas in the first week I was playing mainly against other early adopters with basic weapons, now every match has it's share of advanced weapons. That might account for some of the increased difficulty people are perceiving.

Speaking of which, Infiltrator + Jackal might be the first combo that's worth tagging as nerf-worthy. I don't think an Inf should be able to stealth in and take out a generator in one shot (along with anyone standing nearby).

if you're noticing new weapons all of the sudden it might be because you improved beyond rank 6

when you're brand new they place you in match finding queue with other new players, but then when you hit that special rank they throw you right into the deep end of the pool where you'll see players like me who have had everything unlocked for months and have enough reserved XP (I'm over 2.5 million IIRC) to immediately unlock and upgrade any new released items as soon as they are released.

Is rank 6 the cutoff? I have no proof otherwise, just wondering. I figured it made more sense at lvl 8 because that's also when the other modes unlock.

bounty hunter gives you more credits and won't do too much good in TDM as those credits are more readily spent to help your team in games of CTF where you can purchase vehicles and upgrade base assets

if you're interested in frags I'd go for perks like Looter (extra ammo and grenades on ammo pickups) and Survivalist

Safety Third and Quick Draw would be the only other two perks I might consider for a combat-specific role, outside of niche scenarios (for instance I use an ultra capacitor perk on my Raider for the extra energy for my shields + survivalist, I forgo Looter because I simply don't find it necessary and rarely run out of ammo nor do I particularly value the Raider's grenades)

Playing Pathfinder and going for kills you'll definitely want Explosive Nitrons instead of Impact as they'll do more than twice the damage and explode on impact, effectively giving you a third weapon in a pinch (Looter goes very well with this as you can grab two grenades for each ammo pickup instead of just one, as well as increase your max carry capacity to 4 from 3 when you do pick up that first ammo pill)

Bolt Launcher can also be more effective than the light Spinfusor as it will do a decent bit of extra damage (although maybe slightly harder to aim as the projectile has a slight arc to it)

that's what it was several months ago, I don't know if its changed, but to the best of my knowledge that's what it is

granted I'd be surprised if they don't tweak things further now that the player base is really starting to grow since official release

Ah, that explains it then. I had no idea I was in the toddler zone . It's much safer in there. I'm guessing they moved the rank at which the switch occurs. I'm lvl 12 or 13 now, and I noticed it like 2 days ago.

new Raider pack coming out soon: http://youtu.be/nmCjcwESC70

perfect timing considering I just hit 101 kills today playing Raider on Arx CTF (granted, it was the perfect storm as it was a full 25 minute match plus the entire 10 mintues to end in a stalemate which allowed me to rack up that many kills). Although in my defense the other team outranked my team by nearly double.
