Wasn't my fault. Young driver in her prius came out of an intersection without paying attention and stopped in the middle of the road when she saw me. She had a stop sign for where her car came out but she didn't pay attention to it or what not.

Couldn't avoid her. Cars parked close on both sides of the road, one lane each way, she was blocking both lanes pretty well... maybe could've slipped by by going into oncoming if I was 100% sure she wouldn't move and there was no traffic that way but I wasn't. So I slammed the brakes and hit her hard.

My front end was pretty fucked. Police came by and helped with the process. They told her that it was her fault because I had 100% right of way (I lol'd). Girl didn't seem to speak English well or just could be super shook up (OR, I also suspect trying to get out of the situation best as she could by not saying anything). Two tow trucks came for us because police called for us both. Exchanged info. We moved both of our cars off the road. (Both still able to move a little)

I was actually able to drive home with the tow truck following me even though my front drivers side rubbed up on stuff during right turns a bit. No leaks except AC. (jokes on you, AC, you didn't work anyway!) I saved myself $200 by seeing if I could get home and the tow truck guy was super nice by not charging and just seeing if I could get home. Cool dude. I was only like a mile away when the crash happened.

I'm suffering from some not too bad whiplash right now and I'll be going to the hospital tomorrow. My health insurance actually runs out on Monday. Sucks.

Car is ruined btw. Something got fucked in the engine beyond everything else. I'll probably get like $1500 for the car. We'll see what will happen though because of all the medical stuff.

Prius looks in pretty good shape given the damage you car suffered

You didn't have full coverage?

He doesn't need collision coverage because HER insurance should pay the retail value for the vehicle. You only need collision coverage if you're at fault. What exactly makes this vehicle undrivable aside from the broken headlights, etc.?

ETA: Hope she has more than the State minimum of Insurance?? In California, drivers must carry liability insurance of $15,000 for injury/death to one person.

Eta: Hope your Neck and back feel better soon. Don't spend all your settlement money on BS Medical care!!

Pics of the chick that hit you?

Edit your post to reflect more physical and mental pain you are going through and find a good lawyer, you are looking at few years worth of salary you just made.

Just out of curiosity if she had continue going without stopping, would she still have "hitted" you?

Young driver in her prius

Say no more.

She was probably coming from an abortion clinic (her tenth visit this week no doubt) and on her way to get pregnant again in a crack house. She saw you and purposely stopped to cause this "accident" and then claim you have been harassing and stalking her because she is a young woman.

She probably couldn't get her friends near the scene to drag you out of the car and beat you for trying to kill her.

You got lucky.

But, in the courts, don't be surprised of you get sentenced to death.

I have a friend who was minding his own business walking down the street and a group of feminists attacked and killed him. He was then arrested and put on trail for raping the group of feminists. He was then executed and placed in prison for life. The groups of feminists then got all his money and the house. His family was sold off, to the organ black markets, to make sure the feminists got even more money. He later commuted suicide, because the feminists told him to.

Oh, I hope you are OK and you get a new car that you don't have to pay for, ASAP.

Judging by the photo, it looks like YOU hit HER. Why didn't you just slam on your brakes? Your car hit the side of her car...

You were going to fast for a residential area. Being a defensive driver fully aware of upcoming hazards and driving slower would have allowed you to avoid this collision.

That depends. She might have pulled out in front of him a split second before impact.

He did slam on the brakes. There wasn't enough time after she blew her stop sign for Trident to reach a complete stop.

Naah, too much speed for such close quarters. You have to expect people coming out, especially if there are obstructions impeding visibility

That's how i drive and that's why I've never hit someone

Ah, I agree. Like you, I've never been in such an accident.

Now we've both jinxed ourselves.

I'm puzzled. How fast was he going? Did he have tunnel vision during this? Look at that intersection; how could you have missed a speeding Prius? From a practical point of view, I'd say TridenT is at fault; he could have avoided it if he was more aware of his surroundings and drove more defensively. Sounds like he was only looking 10 feet in front of him.

From a legal point of view, I hope there were witnesses or the Prius driver admitted fault.

I hope the girl has up to date insurance because around here, many many drivers are driving around without any insurance or they did pay a month to get pass inspection and then cancelled insurance by not paying anymore.

Legally, none of that would matter since she had a stop sign at that intersection and Trident did not. Still, I probably would have been driving defensively and slower in general, so I like to think I would have avoided that.
