Wasn't my fault. Young driver in her prius came out of an intersection without paying attention and stopped in the middle of the road when she saw me. She had a stop sign for where her car came out but she didn't pay attention to it or what not.
Couldn't avoid her. Cars parked close on both sides of the road, one lane each way, she was blocking both lanes pretty well... maybe could've slipped by by going into oncoming if I was 100% sure she wouldn't move and there was no traffic that way but I wasn't. So I slammed the brakes and hit her hard.
My front end was pretty fucked. Police came by and helped with the process. They told her that it was her fault because I had 100% right of way (I lol'd). Girl didn't seem to speak English well or just could be super shook up (OR, I also suspect trying to get out of the situation best as she could by not saying anything). Two tow trucks came for us because police called for us both. Exchanged info. We moved both of our cars off the road. (Both still able to move a little)
I was actually able to drive home with the tow truck following me even though my front drivers side rubbed up on stuff during right turns a bit. No leaks except AC. (jokes on you, AC, you didn't work anyway!) I saved myself $200 by seeing if I could get home and the tow truck guy was super nice by not charging and just seeing if I could get home. Cool dude. I was only like a mile away when the crash happened.
I'm suffering from some not too bad whiplash right now and I'll be going to the hospital tomorrow. My health insurance actually runs out on Monday. Sucks.
Car is ruined btw. Something got fucked in the engine beyond everything else. I'll probably get like $1500 for the car. We'll see what will happen though because of all the medical stuff.
